Two of the league’s biggest sides see the curtain come down on their respective seasons at Bankwest Stadium. In the back half of tonight’s doubleheader Western Sydney Wanderers host Melbourne Victory and you can join The Roar for live scores from 8:10pm (AEST).

Western Sydney will be looking to finish on a high note after yet another season without finals football.

They showed some fight in mounting a comeback against Western United last time out, but ultimately went down after conceding another two goals in the space of three minutes.

Import striker Simon Cox has shown quality at times, but his overall goal return has been underwhelming. He gets one more chance to show his quality tonight in the hopes of putting himself in the shop window to extend his stay in Australia – be it at Bankwest Stadium or at another A-League club.

Grant Brebner, along with Melbourne Victory fans and players, will be happy to see the back of the 2019/20 season. It’s been an unmitigated disaster for arguably the league’s biggest club.

Brebner injected some youth into the lineup last time out and it paid off with Victory claiming a commanding 4-0 win over Perth Glory. Expect to see more of the kids in this clash.

Tonight will be something of an audition for those on the teamsheet as Victory still have an Asian Champions League campaign to complete.

It remains to be seen if the competition will even go ahead, but Victory must be making preparations assuming it will.

Assuming he is still the manager in October, this will be Brebner’s last chance to see his players in competitive action before the ACL fixtures.

Prediction
Two teams with nothing to play for. I’ll go with the youthful Victory 2-1.

Battle of the cellar dwellers. In a perfect P&R world, both Melbourne Victory & Central Coast Mariners would be relegated by now. Two teams drop down, & a couple of clubs spring up.
