There were disappointing results for both these teams last round. Western Sydney fell 3-1 to last placed Central Coast, while Victory’s 1-0 loss to Adelaide put an end to their slim chance of finishing second.
The Wanderers will run with a youth keeper once again, with Jack Greenwood and Oliver Kalac named. Kwame Yeboah, Tate Russell and Mathieu Cordier all return to the extended squad.
Victory rested a whole heap of big names in the mid-week ACL clash, and they all return to the squad for this match. Surprisingly including James Troisi – despite Kevin Muscat’s confirmation that he would miss at least two more weeks.
Prediction
The result of this match means nothing to either team in terms of table position, so it is difficult to predict how they will approach it.
Victory are the better squad but they also have an eye towards finals, so they wouldn’t want to be taking too many risks.
