First day back in the EPL and we already have the worst technology blunder ever
Sheffield United and Aston Villa finished with a 0-0 draw on the return to football in the English Premier League but the talk around the world was this disallowed goal.
United thought they’d scored when a free kick curled its way over goalkeeper Orjan Nyland’s head. After misjudging its flight Nyland awkwardly stumbled into the goal with the ball in hand. It clearly crossed the line but despite Hawk-eye technology the goal was not given.
