Kevin Muscat's emotional goodbye to Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat has announced he will step down from his role with the club after its final match of the Asian Champions League campaign.

Muscat has been synonymous with the Victory since the very start, having been captain during the club’s inaugural season and joined the coaching staff prior to his playing retirement.

Having taken over from Ange Postecoglou during the 2013-14 season, Muscat led the Victory to a premiership and championship in 2014-15 as well as another championship in 2017-18.

Under Muscat, the Victory also notched up their first FFA Cup title win in 2015.

However after a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of eventual champions Sydney FC in the A-League semi-finals, Muscat and the club have decided to part ways.

Melbourne will take on Japanese outfit Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Muscat’s final game in charge.
