Giant killer John Millman will be out to cause another monumental upset in his first grand slam quarter-final as he takes on Novak Djokovic at the US Open. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from around 10:30am (AEST).

Millman came away with one of the biggest upsets in US Open history during his first fourth-round match at a grand slam, knocking Roger Federer over in four sets.

In doing so, the Australian became the first man ranked outside 50 to beat Federer at the US Open in 41 attempts and moves to 37 in the live world rankings.

While Federer was slightly off his game during the match, all credit must go the way of Millman. He pounced on a poor serving performance and barely hit any unforced errors, winning all the crucial moments of the match after bouncing back from a set and a break down.

Millman was quick around the court, never died on a point and turned the match into a physical duel from the get-go.

The problem with those tactics against a player like Djokovic though, is that the Serbian loves a physical battle almost as much as anyone else on tour.

Djokovic will also have the weapons to outclass Millman on offence, so if the Aussie to advance again, he will need to increase his level even more, pouncing on any and all errors which come off his opponent’s racquet.

The former World No.1 should also be incredibly fresh heading into this match, having only lost two sets throughout the tournament before blasting past Portugal’s Joao Sousa in straight sets yesterday.

If he can maintain that level, on the surface at least, Millman has very little chance of hanging on.

Still, the amount of pressure he puts on with court movement and pace around the baseline may cause errors, and if that’s the case, Millman could fire on the back of a strong start to the match.

Prediction
It’s so hard to go past Djokovic. The general consensus would be that Millman has just played the match of his live and no matter how hard he fights, will struggle to back up the performance.

Djokovic in four tough sets.

GAME, SET, MATCH, NOVAK DJOKOVIC Djokovic up to the net again here and he hits the volley away to advance to his tenth US Open semi-final. The scoreline is going to look easy, but after two hours and 48 minutes on court, it was anything but. John Millman pushed him for every minute of that three-set match and while he couldn't win a set, he played a high level for the duration. Djokovic just too good. The Aussie ran into a brick wall he simply couldn't overcome today. Djokovic will fake Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals on Saturday morning. Novak Djokovic 6 6 6 John Millman 3 4 4

Djokovic serving to close this match out. Millman still won't give in though. An extremely long point, but the Aussie eventually hits a forehand long. Djokovic 6 6 5 - 15 Millman 3 4 4 - 0

BREAK! Djokovic That will be the end of that now, surely. Millman with a forehand into the net. He just refused to get on the attack there, despite having Djokovic on the ropes a few times. Djokovic will serve for the match after the change. Djokovic 6 6 5 - Millman 3 4 4 -
