You won't see a worse umpire overrule than this at the Australian Open
Taking on Australia’s Jordan Thompson, Kazakhstani Alexander Bublik had every reason to be annoyed after the umpire had a bit of a shocker in first round of the Australian Open.
After losing the opening set and being down a break in the second, Bublik’s first serve was overruled by the umpire who called it out. It was challenged and hawkeye showed it was well inside the service box.
“Are you insane?” Bublik yelled.
“Don’t look at me.”
Bublik threw himself on the court in disgust but eventually returned to serve again on the replay. There was an extra awkward moment when the umpire didn’t initially call a let much to everyone’s amusement.
