As John Kosmina became Sydney FC’s fourth coaching casualty in four years today the club’s long term search for a nickname became quite apparent.
Sydney Rotation FC. Never has a title been more apt for a football club.
Indeed in parting ways with Kosmina, Sydney has now let go as many coaches as Melbourne, The Central Coast, Queensland, Adelaide and Newcastle combined.
Still Kosmina can hold his head high knowing that he outlasted all his predecessors, presiding over a lengthy one and a half seasons with the club, something Pierre Littbarski, Terry Butcher and Branko Culina could only dream of achieving.
You see rotation is ingrained in Sydney FC.
After all Kosmina’s leaving is only a result of the third change in Sydney FC’s ownership, the newly hyped Russian millionaire and co, making their first moves within the club.
Chairman Kemeny earlier this month announced his intentions to leave just as chairmen Andy Harper and Edmund Capon before him.
And Finally CEO Stefan Kamasz’s who replaced CEO Edmund Capon, who replaced CEO Water Bugno all in the space of 4 seasons is likely to find his position in jeopardy under the new owners.
Unsurprisingly with every rotation Sydney FC’s results continue decline highlighted by the club failing to make the finals for the first time in its history this season.
Perhaps it’s time to change this policy of change.

From what I heard, it was either Kosmina or Aloisi. If that's the case, I think Sydney made the wrong call.

Kosmina's appointment was always going to end in tears, the blokes a dickhead. Sydney FC appear to be a political minefield for any coach, about the only thing I liked about Kosmina was his direct no BS approach, looks like the SFC Board didn't like that at all. Redb

There was no point in being "stable" at the appalling level that the club was at, at the end of V2 or V4 - so far, they have got half the decisions right. This was a much needed shot in the arm to SFC members and fans. Cheers md

Well we'll see what will happen with the new coach. For Sydney sake I hope the new foreign coach will do well and stay for a long term and get some stability at the club. THe most likely candidate is Vítězslav Lavička where 442 says that it's 99% chance he will coach sydney He was the manager of AC Sparta Praha and the under 21 Czech Republic national team. His greatest achievement is that he led unfancied FC Slovan Liberec to win Gambrinus liga 2005-06 (Czech republic league) It's good to see they are taking a punt with a foreign manager. Let's hope it pays off
