Taking a look at the World Cup Group B

By TheStinger / Roar Rookie

The second group of the World Cup tournament, Group B, has a clear front runner, but who will finish second is a little more murky.

GROUP B includes:
ARGENTINA – Qualified despite the best efforts of manager, Diego Maradona.
NIGERIA – Qualified because Super Eagles are so much better than regular eagles.
KOREA REPUBLIC – Qualified by not being in Australia’s qualifying group.
GREECE – Qualified by dancing around the opposition in a circle whilst a team-mate scored.

Argentina, led by arguably the best player with a dodgy haircut, Lionel Messi, will absolutely dominate this group. That is unless Maradona decides to start Carlos Tevez as a central defender and brings Gabriel Batistuta out of retirement.

Which he might try to do.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been one of the better performed teams from Africa for the last 20 years, except for not making the 2006 World Cup.

Most of their players are scattered across Europe playing in all sorts of random leagues like the Israeli and Austrian competitions. If their captain, Nwankwo Kanu, can keep his heart beating long enough to drag his team to some wins, they might have a shot at the second round.

South Korea were once a World Cup semi-finalist and they still have some experienced players such as Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung to lead them back to … well, not the top, but somewhere in the middle, maybe.

They have a lot of players from the K-League in their squad and will need them to step up if they are to advance.

There used to be a joke about Greece being so terrible because every time they got a corner, they put a fish and chip shop on it. But they ruined that by winning the 2004 European Championship.

However, this is only their second appearance at a World Cup and they have gone back to being erratic and overall not very good. They will be chopped up and served in a Yiros back home.

Prediction:
Argentina
South Korea
Nigeria
Greece

I didn't want to go too crude and vulgar. This is a family internet after all. :) But you're right, I missed the opportunity there. C'est la vie.

Bit hit and miss there Stinger. If you had done some more research you would have found some more material to use. With your appreciation of toilet humour you would love the fact that Bolton defender Danny Shittu is part of the Nigerian squad. I give this preview a 6 out of 10 :) P.S Messi's hair ain't that bad since he got rid of the mullet.

Enjoyed this one too. Thought I would give it a thumbs up before Angry people who can't take a joke comment. I wonder who will be offended the most :)
