Bogut's Warriors will win NBA championship

By The Crowd / Roar Guru

Andrew Bogut’s trade to the Golden State Warriors means he will soon hold the NBA championship.

They say titles are built on big threes and a strong support team. In Bogut, the Warriors have just found the missing piece to secure a championship ring.

When healthy, the big Australian has all the attributes to complete a unit that always falls painfully short of reaching playoffs and glory. With a reinvigorated Bogut, and ex-San Antonio Spurs weapon Richard Jefferson now on board, the Warriors are in win mode.

Without Ellis compromising the defence, underperforming Udoh eating up valuable minutes and the experience of two highly skilled defensive minded quality veterans, the only direction for the Warriors and Bogut is up.

Bogut has long been plagued by an unstable and weak support cast in Milwaukee. In reality, he was never going to win a championship with the Bucks.

Joining the Warriors, he finally has the talented group he needs to make some noise with the NBA’s elite.

With Stephen Curry feeding him the ball, Jefferson taking over scoring and David Lee on the boards, Bogut will be able to feed off a well rounded unit and stick to playing a more traditional centre role. Gone is the need to worry about an overly porous defensive unit, which often frustrated Bogut at the Bucks.

Bogut now has the stability to challenge a changing Western Conference. The Lakers, Mavericks and Spurs are all getting older. Bogut’s move west provides him with an opportunity to spark the 12th place Warriors, helping them become competitive and allowing them to charge up the board.

Now, both the Warriors and Bogut will become the title-winning forces we always knew they were.

Cheers - didn't follow the downgrade trade of Jackson for Jefferson. Regardless Jefferson is well past his prime. -- Comment left via The Roar's iPhone app. Download The Roar's iPhone App in the App Store here.

Maybe they'd be a chance of a deep playoff run ... if GSW were in the East.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Warriors got Richard Jefferson at the deadline by trading Stephen Jackson to the Spurs. Other than that, I agree with everything else you said.

That's an audacious call! I wouldn't be so sure of it, not when there's a group of lads called the Miami Heat in the NBA, and some kids down at the Oklahoma City Thunder making some noise. No doubt Golden State have a much improved list, and will be very potent with a healthy line-up, but having a healthy line-up is no easy task when you have Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut on the same roster. I would love to see the Warriors succeed, especially with Bogut at the helm, but I have the feeling that this team can't be the very best unless they make at least a few more moves in the coming offseason.

Lol what?? Since when was Richard Jefferson worthy of the status you've given him. I'd be more excited about ex-Kings import Stephen Jackson than RJ. Golden State will definitely improve but there are so so many teams ahead of them... Think you might find the Thunder as a major roadblock in the west. Can't see the Clippers getting any worse either. -- Comment left via The Roar's iPhone app. Download The Roar's iPhone App in the App Store here.

Not with the worst coach in the comp - Mark Jackson and Curry & Boguts injury track record. If healthy, they are a playoff lock, but with teams on the rise such at the Thunder, Clippers, Wolves and Grizzlies, the Warriors still have a few moves left in them if they are to contend.

Shane Battier says hi. Oh, and his team got 14 rebounds in a triple-overtime win out of a kid who wasnt good enough to get reliable minutes in German basketball.
