Powerhouse English batsman Kevin Pietersen is reportedly interested in signing with a team for the second edition of the Big Bash League.
The charismatic England middle order batsman has been linked with the Melbourne Renegades and both Sydney franchises, the Thunder and Sixers.
Without a doubt gaining the signature of one of the world’s most explosive cricketers would not only be a coup for the lucky franchise, but it would give another boost to the BBL in its early years.
Despite the Englishman having taunted Australian cricket fans since the 2007 Ashes series in England, if he does sign up, Australian cricket fans will in general will be lucky to witness his talent over the Australian summer.
Cricket Australia is also interested in signing Pietersen up to and ambassadorial role similar to that of Shane Warne, to make it easier on the salary cap of his potential new team.

@nk7792 Due to the success of last year's Big Bash, there is a high likelihood that BBL3 will have free-to-air coverage (ie Friday and Saturday night cricket with the rest on Foxtel). Please channel 9... 10, 7, sbs, abc, tvs, tv4me, extra (they're all the free-to-air TV channels I could find). Fork out the cash and put the good stuff on free-to-air. It would be a wise move by CA to increase the BBL's exposure. Invest now in developing a following through free-to-air viewership and increase their premier domestic competition's fan base in order to ensure its future success.

I don't know, maybe he should play for the Newcatle Nuggets or the Warnambool Firey Wings. Anyone but those cocky Canberra Colonels. I think Pietersen would give a big boost to the Renegades and the match-up with Warnie at the Stars would be worth watching asw it has been in previous contests.
