Western Sydney Wanderers will be out to extend their A-League record winning streak to ten tonight when they head south to meet Melbourne Heart. We’ll have live scores and minute-by-minute updates from 5.30pm AEDT.
After the high of moving into top spot after beating Central Coast 1-0 the week before, Western Sydney were always a chance to have a let-down performance against last-placed Wellington.
And so it was. The A-League leaders needed two penalties – one from Shinji Ono and one from Mark Bridge – to overcome the Phoenix 2-1.
In truth, the Wanderers were a little sluggish and were within inches of conceding in the final minutes of the game, after Jeremy Brockie’s magnificent swivel-volley crashed against Ante Covic’s crossbar.
They’ll be tested again tonight when they face a Melbourne Heart side playing to keep their season alive, and Tony Popovic’s men will be without the services of Shinji Ono, who will miss with a
Melbourne Heart had a chance to move back into the top six with a win on Monday night against an out-of-form Adelaide United, but they were turned over 2-0 after some wasteful finishing.
Consistent, week-in week-out performances have evaded John Aloisi’s team this season and most would find it hard to argue that the Heart don’t deserve to make the finals.
But the fact is that a win tonight would allow the Heart to move back into the six, if only momentarily.
Western Sydney have been far from their best in the past three matches and if it continues they might find themselves on the losing end soon.

Not obvious because the person walked by any number of WSW supporters that he could have a go at but chose some shirtless gorm. OK he was offended by the bare top display during a wet and miserable afternoon. No, show me the proof thank you.

Wonder if any future games between these two clubs could be nicknamed "See Red" :D

Stevo---if any WSW fan who could afford to travel to Melbourne would have had a WSW jersey on or holding it in his hand.. Very obvious he was a Heart supporter moving across to the WSW bay to cause trouble... I say this as a football supporter who has no love for WSW, but let's keep it real.

Hmm. At the risk of sounding very inflammatory, there was an incident during the tour of duty game to Heart at AAMI, wherein some of the GFU/Avanti lads where invited away from the bay to talk to some of the Yarraside, when a whole bunch of extra, uninvited Heart supporters starting surrounding them and they beat a retreat. Has Heart got a few boys in the Yarraside looking for a regular scrap?

Pretty stupid thing to be doing anywhere any time but saying it was a MH fan is pretty provocative champ! You must have interviewed the fool to find this out?

FULL TIME: Melbourne Heart 1-3 Western Sydney Wanderers And that's all. TEN WINS ON THE BOUNCE for Western Sydney Wanderers. Looked like it could have gone either way at half time when Mebrathu's thunderbolt made it 1-1, but it was just all Western Sydney in the second half. They'll go eight points clear on top of the A-League ladder, and could be crowned A-League Premiers by this time tomorrow night if Central Coast cannot beat Brisbane Roar tomorrow afternoon. Melbourne Heart could be as many as five points outside the six with two games remaining, and if results fall that way it is definitely season over, if it wasn't already. Thanks for reading, enjoy the Big Blue!

92′ Melbourne Heart 1-3 Western Sydney Wanderers Western Sydney are lining up! First Hersi, then La Rocca - Redmayne is doing superbly to keep this score respectable.

90′ Melbourne Heart 1-3 Western Sydney Wanderers Into the final minute now and Western Sydney still dominating the game, despite their two-goal lead away from home. They've utterly bossed this second half. Melbourne Heart will have three additional minutes to score two goals.

Oh that' super from Iacopo La Rocca. Pulls a high cross out of the sky, first touch is absolutely super and he drills his shot into the top left-hand corner. That's the sealer!!!

87' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Another big chance for Mark Bridge. Carries the ball past three, gets to the D and hooks a low left-footed shot past a beaten Redmayne, but also unfortunately inches past the right-hand post.

85' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Williams does well to track down a raking 40-metre pass, stopping the ball just before the corner flag but his cross is easily defednded. Western Sydney switch the play and and three passes the ball is just inside the box down the right hand side with Hersi, who lays the pass on a platter for Mark Bridge, but his shot on the turn is a poor one and the Heart survive.

83' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Free-kick after Hersi pirouette's out of two challenges before being brought down by Garcia...and in the aftermath, is shown yellow? Must have been for dissent, I'd say. From the free-kick, Hersi drills the cross at the near post, but the Heart can turn it away.

82' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Western Sydney have been very, very commanding in the past 15 or so minutes, and Melbourne Heart have barely seen the ball in the Wanderers' half. Now with 10 men after Colosimo saw red, it's looking very bleak indeed for the home side.

80' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Kresinger this time with a half-chance in the area that Kresinger tries to turn at goal from an ultra-sharp angle. Redmayne is down early, keeping them in the game again - just.

79' Melbourne Heart 1-2 Western Sydney Wanderers Bye bye Simon Colosimo. Second yellow card, comes straight through the back of Kresinger, can have no complaints at all. How does he think he can get away with that, knowing he was on a yellow.
