The NBA Finals come to a close today with Game 7 of the Finals live from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, as the Miami Heat host the San Antonio Spurs at 11.00am AEST. Join us for live scores and commentary.
The series did have a few blowouts, but all was forgiven in a Game 6 that many are calling one of the best finals games of all time.
Largely thanks to Ray Allen’s three-pointer with five seconds remaining, the Heat inexplicably came back from five points down with 20 seconds remaining to force overtime, where they would go on to win.
Miami’s quest to go back to back remained alive as they avoided their second finals defeat in three years.
It’s a chance for a fifth title since 1999 for coach Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan and a fourth for Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.
On the other side, Dwyane Wade looks for his third title and LeBron James his second – a man who was widely criticised during that game six despite finishing with a triple double.
I guess when you’re that good, people just expect a bit more.
The real disappointments have been the aging legs of both Wade and Ginobili, as both have really only had one or two good games throughout the entire playoffs.
To me, we know that LeBron will turn up and that Parker/Duncan will do likewise – it will come down to whom out of two shooting guards turns up in this, the biggest game of the year.
We’ve had tonnes of great storylines throughout this NBA season, and let’s hope this game seven gives this year the send-off it deserves.
Join us just before 11.00am AEST for all the action.

Great Finals and pretty much went to script with the Heat winning in 7. The Spurs must be feeling utterly sick though. They all but had one hand on the trophy at the end of game 6. This is where the series was won and lost, If they grab just one of those rebounds in the last minute the Trophy goes to Texas. Apparently the trophy was being wheeled out in that last minute which LBJ and Wade saw. LBJ had the look of resignation. Up by 5 points with 20 seconds to go how do you lose especially a team like the Spurs. The charging foul on Manu was one of the worst calls l've seen, hometown call. That said the Spurs were up by 11 at the start of the 4th, they should have closed it out. The Spurs were always going to struggle in game 7, they were in it until the 4th qtr and then just imploded. Sloppy turnovers and Duncan missing a gimme at the end. The Heat were superb today and committed few errors, LBJ unstoppable again. Ably supported by Wade and Battier. They looked a lot more enthusiastic especially on defence. I wanted the Spurs to win beat hats off to the Heat, heck of a tough team to beat. They must be pinching themselves winning it all. What about the fantastic sportsmanship by Popp congratulating LBJ and Wade after with big hugs. What a class act. That must have been tough on him watching his team let the championship slip away but still remain dignified at the end. Great Finals.

Ha! The Bird Man did wear the championship hat over his mohawk. He didn't for the Eastern Conference celebrations. All playoff long, I was sore at Ray Allen for being quiet. But with that 3 pointer at the end of regulation in Game 6, all's forgiven.

The Spurs did well considering most people predicted a typical Game 7 blowout, but Miami are better in a half court set than San Antonio, whose playmakers were too old/banged up in the end. Was kind of rooting for the Spurs because they're a good story, but can live with it being Lebron's time. Was a pretty good finals series with Game 1 being a great game and Game 6 a classic. There was a lot of terrible offence in Game 7 from two tired teams, but at least it was compelling.

I may be biased here but i don't think Duncan gets enough love. Duncan plays and deliveres wherever the team needs him - he is the complete basketballer.....you can't say the same for someone like Shaq. I'd actually have Duncan higher.....the Spurs have been the most consistent (best performing) team over the past 15 years and there has been one common factor.

very true Oscar Robertson's stats are amazing . He apparently averaged a triple double for whole season once , incredible. right up there Oscar robertson. Hakeem as well was an unbelievable player. Lebron has had a lot of coaching of Hakeem.

true but Le Bron has been so dominate. Shaq has a lot of rings to. He has 4 rings, 3 at Lakers and 1 at Miami

Oscar Robinson is often forgotten, he averaged triple doubles for a few season's. Would be above Duncan. I'd have Shaq above Duncan too; he changed the game for big men.

Russell has 11. I am not a big fan of judging players purely on finals won.
