New Zealand Warriors vs Wests Tigers: NRL live scores, blog

By Alan / Roar Guru

The New Zealand Warriors are coming off an upset win over the Cowboys and will look to build some much-needed momentum when the host the dangerous Wests Tigers. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3.00pm AEDT.

After poor losses to the Eels and Dragons, the Warriors have got their season back on track courtesy of a big win over the Cowboys in Townsville.

New Zealand managed to defy history and a heap of pressure to beat North Queensland last week, and such a result could spark the flamboyant Warriors to life.

The Warriors will certainly have to be close to their best if they hope to defeat a Tigers outfit coming off a morale-boosting win over the Rabbitohs.

Often known for their flamboyance in attack, the Tigers managed to outmuscle South Sydney en route to a strong 25-16 victory.

Tigers and NSW Origin forward Aaron Woods led from the front against a tough Rabbitohs pack and he is certainly the man the Warriors need to keep quite upfront today.

Robbie Farah, James Tedesco and Luke Brooks are also beginning to develop some fine chemistry in attack and this will cause the Warriors plenty of problems if they don’t show up with strong work ethic in defence.

Thankfully for New Zealand, their ability to hold out the fast-finishing Cowboys last week was a good sign the Warriors have turned the corner.

Inconsistency however, continues to haunt the Warriors whenever they play. On their day, they can beat any team in the NRL as evidenced by their winning run last season. When they are out of form however, the Warriors rank as one of the most disappointing sides to watch in the competition and are known to completely fall apart.

Prediction
Until the Warriors address their inconsistency, they will remain very difficult to tip.

Tigers by 6.

The Warriors have put on a show today after trailing early 12 nil against the Tigers. Johnson, Fisiiahi, Tomkins and Hurrell were strong in attack and on their day, they will ask plenty of questions of any defence. There are still improvements to be made in defence but the Warriors going in the right direction after a poor start to the year. Good signs for the Warriors. Tigers once again let a good lead slip and find themselves getting well and truly beaten. Still a lot of defensive issues to resolve. CONVERSION MISSED Warriors 30 Tigers 18 Warriors home now by the looks of it. Johnson once again causing huge havoc with his short kicking game today. Another frustrating loss for the Tigers coming up perhaps.
