Melbourne Storm vs Gold Coast Titans: NRL live scores, blog

By Alan / Roar Guru

The Melbourne Storm were well outplayed by Canterbury last week but are back at their AAMI Park fortress to take on the Gold Coast Titans. Join us for live scores and commentary from 2.00pm AEDT.

After being a late withdrawal last week, Storm captain Cameron Smith makes his return against an in-form Titans side that will certainly push Melbourne.

The Titans, with minimal fanfare, once again find themselves near the summit of the NRL ladder after a strong start to the season.

Three wins from four games is just what the doctor ordered for the Titans and they will prove troublesome foe for the Storm tonight.

While they are yet to play any scintillating football, the Titans are learning how to win ugly; such a trait will serve them well against the best teams in the NRL.

The Storm have to brace themselves for an arm wrestle tonight. The Titans pack has toiled hard this season and will prove no pushover.

If the enigmatic Dave Taylor can fire upfront, the Titans certainly possess the muscle in the forwards to really trouble Melbourne up the middle.

Albert Kelly is another player Melbourne will have to keep an eye on. Kelly’s play over the past few rounds has proved decisive in recent wins over Cronulla and Canberra, and his skill may once again prove key in leading the Titans to victory.

The Storm meanwhile should be expected to bounce back strongly tonight. Craig Bellamy would have had his troops working hard on the training paddock following last week’s heavy loss to the Bulldogs.

If Melbourne turn up and play their best football, their slick backline should once again guide them home. Anything less however and the Titans certainly possess the attitude and muscle upfront to cause the upset.

Storm by 6.

Alan, this is the onbly time I have ever seen a side at the top of the ladder with a minus for and against. I've never seen that in my loife after 5 rounds. That is evidence of the closeness of the competition.

Hadley is a goose. The tape clearly shows that it wasn't a strip. Hadley makes his own opinion based on his narrow view of the world and sticks to it no matter what. He had never changed his mind. He is far too closed to be a comentator in our game. I turn the radioo on and watch the game when he is calling. Personally I thought the Coast deserved to win the game.

Bad luck. Week after week we see players benefiting from poor ball security. Blame the rules.

why did ray hadley say that was a strip, and craig bellamy said disgracefull decision, i'll tell you why, because ray is trying to protect the game from what are obviously too many 50 50 calls that should be let go, and have a free flowing code of footy, but no, they suffer with obsessive compulsive why doesn't anybody like me I'm just doing my job whistle blowing syndrome. what ruined union ?

Joke of a call. Loose carry, replay showed Storm no hands in it. Ruined a great game.

The Titans ladies and gentleman are on top of the NRL ladder after securing their fourth win of the season, beating the Storm 28-26 in a great contest. The Titans continue to toil hard and produced some fine plays in attack and defence to seal the win. Mead was superb for the Titans, scoring two tries and producing some great plays in defence to keep the Titans out of trouble. The Gold Coast upfront were also very strong with Taylor, Bailey, Bird, Harrison, Minichiello and Douglas all putting in strong shifts. The Titans remain undefeated away from home would you believe it! What a great effort from the Gold Coast! Storm with back to back losses. Bellamy won't be happy. Storm 26 Titans 28
