Central Coast Mariners vs FC Seoul: Asian Champions League live scores, blog

Central Coast Mariners host FC Seoul in the Wednesday night in the penultimate match day in Group F. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7:30pm AEST.

The Mariners are undefeated at home in this Asian Champions League campaign, and will be looking to make it three home wins on the trot when they take on FC Seoul. A win here would also consolidate first position in their group.

FC Seoul handed the Mariners a 2-1 defeat in a rugged encounter on the opening match day of the ACL, but have been held to two draws and a loss since that encounter and now sit on the bottom in a tightly packed Group F.

For the home side, there is still the lingering thought of their upcoming home final against Adelaide United, which comes a mere three days after this contest. If they want to defend their title they may need to rotate their squad from last Saturday’s 2-0 victory over the Brisbane Roar.

FC Seoul have a home game to follow on the last match day, but need to win or avoid defeat to keep their round of 16 hopes alive.

A victory might also kick-start their stalled K-League Classic campaign, as they’re currently languishing in 11th position.

Barbarian of a player. The league will be well rid of him.

LOL, same end but wrong half of football. He should have scored using his melon in the first half - if I'm not mistaken.

FULL-TIME SEOUL 1 (Hutchinson OG 91') Central Coast 0 Seoul have stolen one late here at Central Coast Stadium with a John Hutchinson own goal proving the difference. That puts Seoul back in the hunt for qualification and leaves everything to play for in the final match day.

GOAL SEOUL! It's an OWN GOAL from John Hutchinson who was trying to clear a cross that was played into the box but only beat his own keeper. CCM 0 SEO 1 92nd Minute.

76' Bernie Ibini has sparked the Mariners back into life here with a slide pass to the wing where the cross finds Josh Rose who sends it over. CCM 0 SEO 0

72' Seoul are piling on the pressure here with a corner but it is another futile one, as Bernie Ibini has a chance to run at the defense in counter. He holds it up for the support before losing it.

69' Once again Liam Reddy has been exceptional for the Mariners in this ACL campaign. Seoul chip one over the defence but Reddy makes another point blank save.

65' Once again Escudero is played in but he was denied again by Liam Reddy who made himself big to block the shot.
