Poem: The 100th Game Of Origin

By Len Newey / Roar Rookie

We are about to play some football, the greatest show on earth; You get to wear those colours, from the origins of your birth

Queensland are the favourites, they are looking for number nine
You won’t hear them whinge, you’ll never hear them whine

NSW are the Blues, they really need a win
They are getting desperate, their patience’s wearing thin

It’s the 100th game of Origin that will be played on Wednesday night
The battle will be fierce, the scores they will be tight

And when the final siren sounds, the points will tell the story
As there’ll only be one winner, who gets the fame and glory

So sit back and enjoy the series, it’s the best of three,
Queenslander will be the cry, from all my mates and me.
