The best goals of the World Cup like you have never seen them before

By The Roar / Editor

The debate around which strike deserves the title of ‘goal of the tournament’ has been a hot topic in the wake of the Brazil World Cup.

In celebration of three of the most stunning strikes of the tournament, stationary company Stabilo has recreated the moments with the simplest form of animation, a flip book.

We put the question to Roarers and the results currently stand with an overwhelming amount of support for James Rodriguez’s creative volley as the standout of the tournament, closely followed by Tim Cahill’s equalising strike against the Netherlands.

Results from The Roar’s ‘goal of the tournament survey’:
James Rodriguez (47.3%)
Tim Cahill (35.2%)
Robin van Persie (8.9%)
Mario Gotze (4.9%)
David Luiz (1.7%)
Lionel Messi (1.3%)
