Opening wins against the Phoenix and the Roar have Perth sitting pretty on top of the A-League ladder heading into the third round.
Their performance against Brisbane in particular was very good, coming from behind to seal a 3-2 victory over the reigning premiers.
The Glory are certainly a team to be respected and Adelaide can ill-afford to turn up complacent against a side capable of testing the very best teams in the competition.
Adelaide are undefeated themselves but had to settle for a 1 all draw against the Victory despite taking the lead late in the contest.
It appeared that Cirio had scored the winner after curling a wonderful effort past the keeper with his right foot.
A late equaliser however forced Adelaide to share the spoils last Friday.
Given the strong squad at their disposal, Adelaide must make the most of home ground advantage if they are to fulfil their potential.
The Reds really struggled to hit the ground running last season and eventually finished the regular season in sixth position. They are a better team than that and need to show it today against Perth.
Despite some very good patches late in the game against the Victory, Adelaide at times fell into the trap of playing too conservatively while in possession. They will need to be more proactive with the football against a Perth side that will fancy their chances playing on the counter.
Playing at Adelaide Oval last start resulted in a terrific crowd, but clearly reduced any home ground advantage as players struggled to adjust to the speed of the pitch. The Reds should relish in a return to their true home ground.
If Adelaide can play at the high tempo they showed in the last ten minutes of the match against Melbourne, then they should secure the win at home against a well drilled Perth team.
