There was always a chance that Southampton could drop points after such a big win against Sunderland, but to their credit they are winning the games that they are expected to win which could hold them in good stead when it comes to the bigger games where they could drop points but still end up with enough to get into one of the European competitions.

THE GOOD: Southampton staying true to their playing style and while they did not score eight goals, they collected another three points with a great display. THE BAD: Jostling at a corner is part of the game and while blocking a keeper is legitimate tactic, taking him out is not (see West Brom against Crystal Palace). THE UGLY: Comedian Russell Brand planting a big wet kiss on Sam Allardyce during his post match interview.
