FINAL SCORE:
Glory 4
Victory 2
Melbourne Victory will be looking to build on their stunning derby success as they travel face Perth Glory in their FFA Cup quarter final clash at NIB Stadium on Wednesday night. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10:00pm (AEDT).
Following their dismantling of crosstown rivals Melbourne City at the weekend, which featured a stunning hat trick from striker Besart Berisha, Melbourne Victory will be flying high heading into this clash against Perth Glory for a prized semi-final spot in Australia’s first ever nationwide knockout competition.
Perth’s most recent A-League encounter saw them comprehensively beaten by Adelaide United, however prior to this their form has been solid with imported striker Andy Keogh scoring four goals in just 2 matches – victories against Wellington and Brisbane.
This game could well be won in the final third, with the Victory boasting two of the nation’s most in-form and lethal strikers in Berisha and Archie Thompson, a veteran of ten A-League campaigns. Whilst Perth will be hoping Keough is able to equal the output of these seasoned stars.
Despite the reputation of cup competitions overseas, both sides seem keen to field full strength lineups and have a tilt at becoming the inaugural FFA Cup champions.
Victory coach Kevin Muscat stated this week that “From our perspective certainly it would be nice to win the inaugural FFA Cup.”
Following Wednesday’s game, Perth will be back in action on Saturday night when they host the Jets, while Victory have a five-day break before playing Wellington in Melbourne.
Prediction: Perth Glory 0-2 Melbourne Victory
Victory will be elated following their derby joy and should possess too many attacking stars for the Glory defence to handle.
Can the Glory bring their a-game to snatch the Victory?
Join The Roar this Wednesday night at 10:00pm (AEDT) for live score updates and debate in our live blog.

Glory supporters have got used to losing over the last few years, which just makes a win so much sweeter! On the other hand Melbourne Victory have been spoiled by doing well.for so long. Don't worry, though, guys,Fuss is the real thing---he'll support you,no matter what!: :)

I get the feeling visiting team clean-sheets will be very rare in Perth this season.

I thought the referee was really average today. The penalty decision was extremely soft and wasn't a penalty. The first yellow card to Georgevski was also extremely soft and his sending off ultimately decided the game. Having said that I am glad Melbourne Victory lost. I would have to rate Adelaide a real chance to lift the first FFA cup. They would be my pick to win it.

Disgusting performance, guys. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Victory. You let the entire state of Victoria down and I'll be shocked if you even win any hardware this season after this insipid display.

FULLTIME! Glory march onto the semis! A really good performance has seen a 4-2 win over the Victory at NIB Stadium here. Goals to Keogh (2), De Silva and Marinkovic, as well as to Ben Khalfallah and Finkler. They join the Central Coast Mariners, Adelaide United and Bentleigh Greens. Anyone's trophy from here. Really a great game tonight, what cup football is all about. Thrilling. So just to reiterate Perth Glory 4-2 Melbourne Victory at the end of 120 minutes. Thanks for joining me for this wonderfully exciting game.

119' Mahazi with a long range effort which flies well over the bar. Time is just about up as the Glory complete a thrilling victory over, ironically enough, the Victory. 4-2

Weird one. Adam Leijer has received a second yellow for dissent. Victory now with 9 on the pitch. Seriously odd. 4-2

116' Keogh into the backfield again, doesnt shoot again? Cuts it back too far this time. 4-2

114' Thoroughly deserved for the Glory. They've been really good here. Not technically over yet, but with 6 minutes to go, there's almost no way back for the Victory needing 2 more goals. 4-2

Yep, A-league ref, and he is internationally certified by FIFA.

GOALLLL 4-2 SURELY GAME OVER NOW? Andy Keogh strides away into the back field and keeps his composure to find a teammate. The ball is stroked into the net. 4-2 Glory. Semi-finalists surely.

ALMOST ANOTHER FOR GLORY Lots of passing on a quick break around the final third. Maclaren with time to place his shot but fails to beat Coe. Hit straight at the keeper but fine safe. Could have put it to bed. 3-2

Barborouses! Just wide! A little one two and his shot is so very close to equalising once more for a 10 man Victory. Still 3-2 here. 108 gone.

Back underway for the second period of extra time now. Glory lead 3-2 still. 15 Minutes to hold on. Can they do it?
