Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: 2014/15 English Premier League live scores, blog

By Graham Smith / Roar Guru

Crystal Palace host Liverpool in the early hours of Monday morning, and will never have a better chance to derail Liverpool’s season further whilst moving clear of the relegation zone themselves. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 12:30am (AEDT).

Both clubs have lost their last two Premier League games. Liverpool will still have nightmares of their last meeting at Selhurst Park in May.

Leading 3-0 with 15mins to go Crystal Palace scored three times to salvage a draw and dent Liverpool’s title hopes.

Liverpool have big injury concerns with Daniel Sturridge injuring himself at training midweek and potentially out for a further six weeks.

On top of this Mario Balotelli is in doubt after withdrawing from Italy’s international during the week and returning to Anfield also injured.

Crystal Palace is in the top five tackling teams in the league and it’s this pressure which will upset the passing skills of the reds. Led by Australian captain Mile Jedinak their pressure on the ball could prove too much.

Jason Puncheon and Frazier Campbell have also had good seasons, Campbell having scored three times.

Liverpool rely on English duo Sterling and Gerrard and with their injuries it must be time to give Ricky Lambert a go up front. He has only played 182 mins in nine games this season.

Liverpool start this round sitting in 11th place on the EPL ladder and can not afford to drop a match, or come away with anything other than three points, against one of the season’s cellar dweller sides.

Despite this, I don’t see Liverpool achieving anything more than a draw in this match.

Prediction 1-1.

Will Liverpool find someone to score a goal without Sturridge and Balotelli or will the Australian led Crystal Palace shut them down at their home Selhurst Park?

Full time 3-1Crystal Palace- Liverpool Palace thoroughly deserve win. After conceding early , controlled the game and looked more threateneing. Liverpool's season officially in crisis. They lack presence up forward without Sturtidge and don't get forward enough into the box. There ball movemnet is slow and they look bereft of ideas. Palace defended deeply and had 5 shots on taget to just 1 for Liverpool. First win for 2 months for Palace. Thats it. Overall a perfect example of a great team beating a team of individuals.

Welcome back .you would have to say Palace had the better of that half after a slow start. 4 shots on target to 2. Bolasie has been the star for my money. Driving runs down the left, giving Manquillo nightmares. Maybe Liverpool can bring Moreno on and swith Johnson over to right back. Conditions are still difficult with driving rain. No chnages to either side

1-1 Crystal Palace- Liverpool Half Time Lambert scored his first Liverpool goal early only to be cancelled out by Gayle who scored his fourth goal in 3 appearances against Liverpool. An even game, but Palace are defying their ladder position and have looked more threatening at goal. Will this lead to a winner in the second half , back in 15mins
