Mason investigated over NZ incident

By News / Wire

Manly and the NRL will investigate the alleged “anti-social behaviour” of Willie Mason at an Auckland nightclub during this weekend’s Nines tournament.

It is believed Mason was asked to leave a venue on Saturday night after what has been described as a minor incident.

Mason was not part of the Sea Eagles’ Auckland Nines squad this weekend but attended as a guest of the NRL season opening tournament’s events partner.

“The club has been made aware of the alleged anti-social behaviour by Willie Mason at the NRL Auckland Nines over the weekend,” a Manly statement said.

“Although not a part of the Sea Eagles NRL Auckland Nines squad, Mason is still a representative of the club and as such, the matter will be reviewed internally before offering any further comment.

“The NRL’s Integrity Unit is also aware of the matter.”

What are you talking about? ASADA is over for the NRL and this article is based on Willie Mason playfully wrestling with his younger brother.

So NRL and AFL having just as much off field dramas as each other it is NRL the media calls upon to clean up its act. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland-state-election-2015/editorial-election-result-a-wake-up-call-to-both-the-lnp-and-abbott/story-fnrab879-1227203676441 It is essential that the AFL resolve the ASADA drugs issue as soon as possible. The NRL must also tackle its own ASADA implications, but more importantly, it must clean up the image of the game, especially the off-field behaviour of some of its players.
