Dane Nielsen under investigation for code of conduct breach

By The Roar / Editor

The St George-Illawarra Dragons are investigating an incident involving centre Dane Nielsen that occurred on Saturday night, after their victory over Canberra.

The club confirmed that Nielsen had not been selected in the team this week due to the investigation.

“Dane Nielsen has not been named in any team this week due to a breach of the club’s code of conduct and the NRL Integrity Unit has been informed,” the club said in a statement.

Nielsen debuted for the club a fortnight ago against his old club Melbourne, after signing a two-year deal with the Dragons after playing with the Warriors last season.

At this stage, the details of the incident have not emerged, though it was understood to have taken place at popular nightspot Northies.

The news comes just the day after news broke that Jacob Loko of the Bulldogs and Jorge Taufua of the Sea Eagles were involved in a brawl outside a bar on Saturday night.

Nielson may think he is a Shark not a Dragon as news reports allege that he bit a woman's leg down Cronulla way. Another one of Doust's K-Mart Red Light Special signings for 2015!

So happy the warriors dumped him. He was a HUGE liability with us.

Hahahahaha. Whenever my girlfriend tells me I'm a crappy boyfriend, I always tell her - 'could be worse, you could be dating a league player'.

I have no idea why we even bought him. Aitken, Mata'utia and Runciman are all more capable and less expensive. The club doesn't need any more black eyes.
