In a move that has surprised absolutely no one at all, Carlton have sacked senior coach Mick Malthouse. The decision has seen Twitter explode with it’s usual mix of the amusing, the insightful, and the downright hilarious.

You’ve got to feel a bit for Daisy Thomas, Mick’s son-he-never-had (aside from the sons he did have). Has lost his mentor and copped a parking fine in the same day.
Bottom of the ladder and sacked the coach just two months into the season. You’d say it can only get better from here but I’m sure Carlton will find new ways to disappoint us.
The idea that this has all been part of some Eddie McGuire master plan is far too plausible for us to be entirely comfortable.
You’d have to have a few concerns for the mental wellbeing of anyone willing to put their name forward for the Carlton coaching job.
