Sandow prepared to leave Parramatta

Parramatta halfback Chris Sandow says he’s no clearer on his future and has not ruled out a stint in the English Super League.

The off-contract playmaker faces a fight to stay in the blue and gold next NRL season with indifferent form affecting his market value and Kieran Foran on his way to Parramatta.

Sandow was dropped by coach Brad Arthur to NSW Cup last month, all but ending any chances of extending his four-year stint at the Eels.

Foran is predicted to partner Corey Norman in the Eels halves next year and the New Zealand and Manly five-eighth’s arrival at Parramatta is expected to squeeze out Sandow.

Sandow, who is on a big money contract at the Eels reported to be worth $550,000 a year, also suffered a hit to his reputation last month when he crashed a car ahead of the side’s clash with Melbourne.

“It’s not in my hands, I’ve just got to play good, consistent footy and that part takes care of itself,” Sandow said.

While he said everyone had a right to their opinion, Sandow had a curt retort to his detractors, saying: “if you don’t play footy you don’t know what it’s like out there.”

However he could not rule out being forced to switch clubs or move overseas next season.

“I’ve just got to train really hard during the week and that shows on the field,” he said.

“We’ve been training really well for the last few weeks and we’ve just been losing games, but the boys are trying really hard.

Come back to Souths Chris, take less pay and be apart of where you came from and where you will be appreciated. Common Souths officials, get Chris back, we need Chris Sandow as Reynolds is very susceptible to injuries (and Souths cannot rely on him for everything) Keary is good but he is just too small and not beefy enough for the tough encounters, if you look at Keary (in most hard tackles) he gets knocked around and he seems fatigued, he rarely gets into the hard slogs and/or makes decisive tackles. Sandow would be a great addition to Souths Sydney, full stop.

French Rugby. Just teach him to feed the ball into a scrum properly. He'd kill it.

Geez I think Sandow would go well in the ESL, but any NRL club looking to engage his services has to be mad. The style of footy in the ESL suits Sandow to a T.
