[VIDEO] Melbourne Demons v St Kilda Saints highlights: AFL scores, blog

Match Result:

The St Kilda Saints ground out an unentertaining win over the Melbourne Demons at the MCG, ultimately finishing with a 37-point victory.

>>MATCH REPORT: Saints beat Demons by 37 points

Aside from stringing a few goals together in the second term, the Demons never looked dangerous, and the Saints showed they are clearly the further developed of these two regenerating clubs.

The Melbourne Demons will look to avenge their loss to the St Kilda Saints earlier this season when they meet them at the MCG this afternoon. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 3.20pm AEST.

The Demons hearts were broken in the last version of this fixutre as, despite a great peformance from young gun Jesse Hogan, they coughed up a lead in the last minute of the game to a Leigh Montagna snap on goal.

The Saints celebrated with a frenzy what was their eleventh straight win over the Demons while the Dees were in a horrible slump, no doubt marking today’s fixture down on their calendars as one to bring their A-game for.

Now they have the reverse on the Saints, rather than travelling to Etihad Stadium they will host them at the MCG and rate themselves a serious chance of getting some payback and snapping an eleven-game losing streak to the Saints.

The Dees have made two changes heading into today’s game, bringing back a little more experience with Jack Grimes and Viv Michie coming in for Alex Neal-Bullen and Jay Kennedy-Harris, both being omitted.

The Saints on the other hand have made only one change with Farren Ray dropped from the side to allow Adam Schneider back into the team.

The Saints struggled a bit last week in ‘Maddies Match’ against the Tigers, failing to get into the game early, though they did come home flying with six goals to none in the last quarter.

Unfortunately that just wasn’t enough – they’d already let Richmond get too far ahead for it to be of any consequence.

Melbourne on the other hand ground out an ugly but satisfying win over Brisbane, seeing Jesse Hogan kick four goals, and have a chance to win two in a row for the first time in years today.

Prediction
I think the Dees will get up today.
Melbourne by 18 points.

Melbourne managed to uglify yet another game - Saints far too good for them though - gone well past them.

Dull game in the end, low-scoring and scrappy. Saints get win no. 6 of the season.

Dees without much hope here. 29 points down ahead of the last quarter. Saints should win it from here and make it twelve consecutive wins over Melbourne.
