After a great start to their English Premier League campaign, Manchester United await Club Brugge at Old Trafford early Wednesday morning (Australian time) with a place in the Champions League group stage on the line.
Manchester United not only have maximum points from their first two matches in the EPL, they also boast two clean sheets.
Adnan Januzaj’s strike separated United and Aston Villa on the weekend, which put them on top of the ladder until Manchester City defeated reigning champions Chelsea 3-0.
With the important away goals rule coming into play against Brugge, all eyes will be on the United’s defence and on Sergio Romero in between the sticks.
The visitors sit third in their domestic league after a steady start to the season, and impressively saw off Panathinaikos FC earlier this month to set up this clash.

“He is very good, he is one of their key players,” Van Gaal admitted. “He is not only fast, but he has a good vision.”

Most pundits , and United fans , feel the start has been far from 'great' - with a grand total of three attempts on goal in two games , one win coming from an own goal and even the winner against Villa being a deflected shot. Yes they were top of the table , by virtue of playing the evening before any of the other teams , but to be pedantic they were taken over at the top by Leicester , after their win on Saturday, with City not playing Chelsea until the Sunday. Then , according to your reporter , despite not being in the eleven or on the bench for the Aston Villa game Phil Jones sustained an injury against Villa ?
