The Port Adelaide Power want to end their season with a significant win over the Fremantle Dockers at Adelaide Oval. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3:50pm (AEST).

The last time these two teams met was back in Round 1, and it was an arm wrestle as soon as the ball was bounced at Domain Stadium.

Fremantle ended up winning by 7 points to set up a nine-game winning streak.

As a result of up to 11 Fremantle players possibly being rested, including the whole midfield, this will be a test of how the youngsters stack up against a fast-running and attacking Port Adelaide.

Ninth-placed Port, who have been disappointing compared to their 2014 breakout season, need to make a statement to the footy world by not letting Fremantle get off lightly.

It is foreseeable that the result will be similar to when Fremantle rested 11 players against St Kilda in Round 23, 2013, where the Saints dominated the match to win by 71 points.

On paper, the battle in the midfield will favour Port Adelaide, and the home team need to make this a reality. Port Adelaide’s forwards also need to shine, especially Jay Schultz, who may well be playing his last game for the Power, as Fremantle are displaying increasing interest in snapping him up.

No matter what, it will be good experience for the Fremantle players who step up.

Prediction
Port Adelaide by 76 points.

Well we lost by 69 points but there was some positive signs especially in the first quarter. I really thought Weller played well. Ethan Hughes was impressive and did some good things. Blakely was good early. Grey was ok. Taberner was on fire in first quarter then fell away. Port obviously were pretty flat in the first quarter but they are a good side. Can't believe they missed finals! Zac Clarke has played in a freo jumper for the last time. He will be trade bait. Very poor again today. Perhaps part of a trade for Schulz. Nice to see him warming up for 2016 with a bag!

Will Port beat the Peel boys by as much as the Hawks beat the Dockers?

Barlow gets up shakily from a big tackle. His monster efforts prevail for his team as young gun Ed Langdon lines up for his first AFL goal, but shaves the goal post. Port Adelaide 18.14.122 Fremantle 8.5.53 Time remaining: 2:20 in Q4

Robbie Gray is still going full throttle and he earns a free kick. Don't get injured now Robbie, you've got a big day on Monday. Port Adelaide are peppering the goals but can't get the chocolates. Surely the Power players are now thinking about their Mad Monday celebrations. A disappointing season but that'll all be forgotten after a beer or 50, Paddy Ryder takes a strong mark on the goal-line and threads the needle to extend their margin. Boak charges through the middle and delivers to Robbie Gray with a beautiful dart of a pass. Gray's kick for goal is off target. The sting has well and truly gone out of this game now with players seemingly going through the motions. Robbie Gray dances around the defence and deliver to a flying Jasper Pittard who kicks a beautiful Port Adelaide goal. Port Adelaide 16.13.109 Fremantle 8.4.52 Time remaining: 8:20 in Q4

Wingard has had a quiet game, and it has been soured when he was spotted getting treatment from the on-field doctor. Krakouer shows his worth with a booming set shot from the 50m arc. Port Adelaide 15.12.102 Fremantle 8.4.52 Time remaining: 10:40 in Q4

Sam Gray snaps a brilliant roving goal. He'll be looking to have a strong pre-season in readiness for 2016. Port win the centre clearance and continue to attack but the ball is turned over. It's not long before Port regain possession and attack again. Butcher comes close to taking another contested mark but the ball spills to ground. He's the crowd favourite this afternoon. Westhoff kicks it out on the full rather comically to end their attacking foray. Port Adelaide 14.12.96 Fremantle 8.4.52 Time remaining: 12:30 in Q4

Port Adelaide are looking to put on a show for their loyal supporters, but Fremantle's steadfast defence is holding up well. Ebert has a set shot on goal from the 50m arc but the small smacks into the woodwork. Fremantle get a welcome free kick but turn the ball over, leading to a Port behind. Paddy Ryder walks away from a tackle with a limp and a grimace. Port Adelaide 13.11.89 Fremantle 8.4.52 Time remaining: 16:30 in Q4

Fremantle will get a chance to kick another goal before the siren sounds, but Ibbotson shanks the ball into the crowd on the full. The buzzer will beat everyone, with Port having the upper hand. Port Adelaide: 13.8.86 Fremantle: 7.4.46

Matt White slams the ball into the crowd for a goal. Just as Freo were looking to get settled in for a hopeful last quarter, the Power kick away. It will take Freo's best to get back. Port Adelaide: 13.8.86 Fremantle: 7.4.46 Time remaining: 1:30 in Q3

Taberner is playing a great game as Fremantle's sole marking target up forward. He looks the most likely to retain his place. Fremantle go coast to coast with stand-in skipper Barlow running into an open goal. Fremantle have activated their sub with Ballard coming on for Neale. Despite being a dead rubber there is enough in this game to maintain interest. Some great play down the left wing leads to another Robbie Gray mark inside forward 50. He looks around playfully and runs into an open goal. His class is really shining through as the sun sets on the Adelaide Oval. Port Adelaide: 12.5.77 Fremantle: 6.4.40 Time remaining: 9:00 in Q3

There are a few sore bodies out there right now, and they will only get sorer as the game progresses. The sun is starting to set on Adelaide Oval as the third quarter churns on. Fremantle are getting under Port's skin. That is until Robbie Gray kicks a goal from a Paddy Ryder bomb inside 50. Robbie Gray continues to shine, prevailing a de Boer tag. Port Adelaide: 11.4.70 Fremantle: 6.4.40 Time remaining: 12:00 in Q3
