Aussie Ben Simmons goes to a whole new level against South Alabama

Australian basketball phenomenon Ben Simmons kicked things up a notch in his third college basketball match, against South Alabama, cruising to yet another double-double.

Simmons finished with a game-high 23 points, shooting nine of 14 from the field, along with 16 rebounds.

The win continues the LSU Tigers’ perfect start to the 2015-16 season.

They play their next match against Marquette at 11am (AEDT) on Tuesday.

It's already started. The commentary in some of these LSU games has been a bit over the top with praise for him. Not that he is not playing well, I just want them to occasionally talk about other things than a constant stream of Ben Simmons.

So exciting for rio and beyond - forget bogut, exum and anyone else who might play Simmons looks to be a genuine superstar. Mark down Jan 5 as a must watch. LSU vs Kentucky. If Simmons can dominate and do as he pleases in that match up then the media will properly start the hype machine
