Adam Scott is heading toward the Masters in red-hot form after claiming a second successive victory, taking out the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship in Miami.
Scott fell to six shots off the lead after two double bogeys in his opening five holes in the final round before spectacularly climbing off the canvas at Trump National Doral.
A run of six birdies in nine holes set up a final round three-under-69, leaving him at 12-under 276 and one shot clear of American Bubba Watson (68).
The win will lift Scott from No.9 to No.6 in the world rankings as he prepares to seek a second Masters green jacket at Augusta National next month.
Scott overcame a third round quadruple bogey en route to winning the US PGA Tour’s Honda Classic a week ago and he was able to salute again on Sunday despite hitting two balls into the water and a shank out of a bunker during his final round.
“I’ve used my experience to my advantage the last couple of weeks,” said Scott.
“I’ve realised these are tough courses. Although you never want quads and doubles you’re never out of it. It was such a challenge out there today.
“I really can’t believe I’ve won back-to-back weeks, but to win a world golf championship is huge again and I’ve just got to keep pushing hard for the next couple of weeks.”
Starting three behind overnight leader Rory McIlroy, Scott opened with a birdie to cut the deficit to two before his chances seemingly drowned in the Blue Monster course lakes.
After his tee shot found the left rough on the third hole Scott dumped his approach into the water and walked off with a double bogey.
Two holes later he overcooked his approach to the fifth hole and once again was wet, dropping another two shots.
But, rather than throw in the towel, Scott charged ahead with six birdies in his next nine holes, joining the lead just six holes after he trailed by six.
A clutch up and down for par after almost finding the water on the 18th was enough to seal the win.
World No.2 Jason Day finished even par for the week and tied 23rd.
Marc Leishman finished two over while fellow Australians Nathan Holman, Marcus Fraser, Jordan Zunic, Scott Hend and Steven Bowditch all finished way off the pace.
Bowditch became the first player in WGC history and the first on the US PGA tour to fail to break 80 in four rounds since 1983.

Sensational to watch him fight back the way he did. Took some major balls to one, comeback from 6 shots behind thru 5 holes, and also play the 18th the way he did. yes, he got lucky, but he had a crack. Can honestly say as one of his biggest fans, first time ive seen him win 'dirty', and it was awesome to see.

The shot on 18 was ridiculous, when I saw him lining that up I thought he needed to cut the @rse out of it and best case scenario was to slice it into the stands and take the drop, then try and get up and down. I still don't know how it stayed up but it was a sensational up and down from where he ended up. Adam Scott showed plenty of character to come back from being 4 behind after 8 to 1 in front at the end.

What a great win! And what a lesson to us hackers, to never give it away - he seemed out of it after those two double bogeys. Fantastic drama on 18, somehow keeping it out of the water, then icing the up and down. Can't wait for the Masters.
