Wallabies still waiting on Lealiifano

By News / Wire

The Wallabies are still waiting on inside centre Christian Lealiifano to link up with the team but his chances of a start in the first Test against England are lengthening by the minute.

Lealiifano missed the entirety of Australia’s training camp on the Sunshine Coast last week as he awaited the birth of his first child, and there was no sign of him as the Wallabies held an open fan day in Brisbane on Sunday.

Sekope Kepu and Taqele Naiyaravoro’s arrivals were also delayed due to weather conditions affecting their flights but the pair are expected to join their teammates later on Sunday.

Before the world Cup contributors were fretting over the shortage of hookers in the squad but few seem concerned that there is only one 10 in the squad for a three test series against England. Jack Debrezceni should be called up. Perish the thought of Quade returning.

Get the WB scrum to push that baby out. :) It may be too early for Reece Hodge to be thrown into the bearpit of an important International, but if K.Hunt is still wounded and CLL doesn't get there by Thursday then I suspect Hodge will be reserve in the 1st test.

Hodge can play 10, I reckon he will be put on the bench as the backup. It looks like they will be digging deep into the new players for the centres, outside backs and bench. I'm picking Horne, Folau and Kuridrani to all start with Haylett-Petty, Morahan, and Kerevi all to all either start or get a bench spot alongside Hodge.

Wallabies games are important but they don't rate compared to the birth of a child. It is good to see a man with his priorities right.

question is , was he going to start anyway? i thought he was backup 10 ( since dont think there are any others whio play 10 in the squad) and on the bench. it is looking very much like Folau at 15 and Kerevei at 12 (given Hunt is also injured still).
