Wallaby rookie fined for urinating

By Justin Chadwick / Wire

Wallabies fullback Dane Haylett-Petty has been fined $5000 after it emerged he was the Western Force player who urinated in the hallway of the team’s Bloemfontein hotel last week.

And stand-in Force skipper Pek Cowan was docked the same amount after gaining unauthorised access to a team vehicle after the team-agreed curfew of 1am last Sunday.

Both Cowan and Haylett-Petty were served with breach notices by the ARU after it was deemed they broke the Australian Rugby player code of conduct following the 30-29 loss to the Cheetahs.

Haylett-Petty urinated in the hotel’s hallway after being locked out of his room.

The 27-year-old was also involved in a heated play fight with his brother in which a vase was broken.

Haylett-Petty later paid for the broken vase.

Both Haylett-Petty and Cowan have been stripped of their leadership duties for the remainder of the Super Rugby season.

But the pair were cleared to play in Saturday night’s 22-3 loss the Stormers in Perth.

Haylett-Petty made his Wallabies debut during the recent 3-0 Test series loss to England.

Cowan has 10 Wallabies caps to his name, and he’s one of the most respected figures at the Force.

The ARU integrity unit were in lockdown mode on Friday while they investigated the Force’s drama-filled trip to South Africa.

The off-field misbehaviour comes just a month after the ARU formed an alliance with the Force in a bid to save the struggling Perth-based franchise from going under.

Force coach Michael Foley was sacked soon after the alliance was formed because of the team’s poor run of results.

Ruckin Oaf... try to read things in context. It was aimed at John who appears to think they are much of a muchness. Personally I think comments like yours and the Johns senior and Junior are fairly consistent with something that passes from your 4rse.

Don't know where you are going with that Johnny Boy Jnr. No doubt the same place as your mate John or is that your dad. Personally I don't know what you have wet dreams over and to be honest I am just as happy not knowing. But keep up the good work, whatever it is you do.

'....is spelling, grammar and punctuation taught in NZ?' Oh the irony. What was taught at your school instead of grammar and comprehension, John? Maybe that it is fine (at least for the ruling classes) to p$ss in hallways because it is the job of the lowly cleaners to mop up any mess made by the elite?

Chivas, No one 'defecated' on the floor of a hotel room in this instance, they 'urinated'. Is it possible you've extended your use of vocabulary past your own limitations to sound scholarly ??? You're not fooling anyone

Which circle is that Chivas? The one where you collect your kids from the local catchment state school before meeting up with other kiwi cast off Australian resident mates to rediscover pride in your birthplace. I hate to burst your bubble but it's not every Australian's wet dream to order a chicken parmy and schooner combo while a Neil Diamond impersonator belts out tunes at the local leagues club.

Jig. One is a legal matter handled under crimes. The other is under a jurisdiction where they set the rules. It may seem strange to you, but there is genuine difference between the two acts and ynder who's jurisdiction it falls. Julian Savea was handled according to the legal system as a crime as it should be. So what you seem to be saying is if it's not handled by the legal system, go for it and p1ss and sh1t where you like. The AB's have to set rules not covered by the legal system to ensure appropriate standards and behaviours are maintained while on 'AB' duty. You don't think that is important or want to turn it into a p1ssing contest tells me either you are truly a dope called jiggles who got banished from here for being a complete goose or are just being purposely obtuse. But I see John is not alone in thinking it appropriate and understandable to defecate where and whenever you like. For the record there have been plenty of AB's who have done equally dumb things and worse than what DHP has done, but the point is the AB management are genuinely trying to do something about it. If you can't see that and see them as having weird or strange standards, then spending time explaining it further would be a bit of a waste of breath.
