By Isaac Nowroozi / Roar Guru

Match result:

The Western Sydney Rams won an overtime classic against Queensland Country, coming away the victors by four points.

Final score
Western Sydney Rams 50
Queensland Country 46

Match preview:

Both the Western Sydney Rams and Queensland Country will be searching for their first respective wins of the 2016 NRC season when they meet in the second game at Concord Oval.

Both sides have had their moments on the park, but neither has managed to reach their full potential.

Winless after four games, there is the realistic chance that the loser of this match could go all season without getting a victory.

The Western Sydney Rams are coming off a 16-22 loss to the University of Canberra Vikings, where they showed a real lack of attacking promise.

Queensland Country are coming off a 36-66 loss to Perth Spirit, where they looked dangerous in attack yet highly vulnerable in defence.

Waldo Wessels replaces Scott Gale in the XV for the Rams.

For Country, Tanuela Tupou, James Tuttle and Mack Mason all return in the XV, however they will be without Izaia Perese.

The last time these two sides played was in round four of the 2015 season. Queensland Country managed to hold on late to get the six-point win away from home.

Prediction
Despite both sides being winless, this game has the potential to be a thrilling affair. Expect it to be close no matter which way it goes.

Who are the defensive coaches for these two teams ? I'm guessing more missed tackles than people in the stands?

Both teams desperate for the win pushing everything including the pace. Which lead to a scrappier 2nd half but still plenty entertaining (and frustrating, aggreviating, soul crushing and finally after 4 long weeks of nearly there, elation). An absolute brain snap from Paia'aua. Couldn't believe it. I was already starting another mourning process only for one last hopeful opportunity to scrum the QC pack into submission. And we did.

Caught the 2nd half. First NRC I've seen all year. Some decent play in amongst some scrappy play. QCountry had the lineout but Rams had the scrum. Thought Pulu looked a real talent for the Rams, and the no.8 had some good carries as well. For QCountry Rodda was good, while the 10-12-15 axis of Mason/Third, Paia'uau and Banks worked quite well also. A lot of hardworking performances from both backs, but I'm not really familiar with their names. Paia'aua needs another look at the rule book though! They had it won!
