Arsenal vs Chelsea highlights: EPL scores

Arsenal will be looking to claim second spot on the Premier League table when they host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. Join The Roar from 2:30am AEST for live scores.

Coming off two big wins, first against Hull City in the Premier League and then against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, Arsenal will be full of confidence when they return to their home ground for the first time in three matches.

Granit Xhaka bagged his second ever Arsenal goal against Forest, as Lucas Martinez found the net twice in 11 minutes to make it 3-nil. Then, in injury time Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added one more for good measure as the Gunners took the 4-nil win away from home.

The Gunners haven’t had a lack of goals this season, but have against Chelsea. Arsenal have failed to score in their last six Premier League games against the Blues, and have failed to defeat them in their past nine.

Coming off a League Cup win of their own, against defending Premier League champions Leicester City, Chelsea will be looking to extend their positive run at the Emirates Stadium.

It was a hard fought match that ended 2-all at full time, but two quick extra time goals via former Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas gave Chelsea the 4-2 win at King Power Stadium.

Chelsea have not been at their best this season, but can take solace in the fact that they have won four games at the Emirates, more than any other side.

However, they will need more than history on their side, as an in-form Gunners side will be looking for revenge.

The last time these two sides met was in January. Diego Costa’s 23rd minute goal was enough to give Chelsea all three points away from home.

Prediction
This is one of those fixtures that always creates fireworks. Arsenal, on paper, are the side on form. However, Chelsea have always proved to be a thorn in their side. If the Gunners can stay level headed, they should be able to break the streak.

Arsenal 1 – 0 Chelsea

A great game for Arsenal; dramatically improves their morale and there is some real quality shining in the squad, particularly in youngster Alex Iwobi.

Arsenal have played some lovely football this half. The second was absolutely world class. Barca would be proud to score a goal was such style. But long way to go in this game.
