Wales vs Wallabies live stream: How to watch online or on TV - Wales vs Australia Spring Tour Test

By The Roar / Editor

The Wallabies will travel to play Wales in the first match of their 2016 Spring Tour. If you’re looking to live stream the match online or watch it on TV, you are in the right place – here we have all the details on how to watch the Test.

Wales vs Wallabies live scores, blog

The match is being televised through BeIN Sports, which gives you a variety of ways to watch it.

If you’re looking to watch it on TV, you can do so via Foxtel – BeIN Sports 3 is Foxtel channel 515.

Because it’s on Foxtel, one way to live stream the match will be to use the Foxtel Play and Foxtel Go apps.

Foxtel Go is free if you already have an existing Foxtel service. Foxtel Play would be a better option for those who are looking only to access live-streaming services and not interested in a traditional installation.

Foxtel Play starts at a minimum cost of $25 per month, but increases to at least $50 per month if including the ‘Sports’ package. There is however a two-week free trial available for new customers.

These apps give you the ability to stream Foxtel channels to a variety of devices – PC and Mac computers, and Android and iOS tablets and mobiles.

You can also purchase access directly through BeIN. There is currently a free trial available for new users.

It is also possible to access some of BeIN’s coverage through Fetch TV, however, only BeIN Sports 1 is available in this manner, and the match is being televised on BeIN Sports 3 – so Fetch TV will not be an option for this match.

BeIN will be televising every match of the Spring Tour series.

To be fair to SBS no other broadcaster is interested in showing football, and it does draw some of the network's biggest viewing figures. They've also broadcast rugby in the past (a Wales-Australia match too, IIRC), and made a pretty decent effort of it, far better than the dross that both 7 & 9 served up around that time. Perhaps if the budget was balanced by chasing non-tax paying corporations (like, say, ooh I dunno... NewsCorp?) and more funding was given to our publicly-funded broadcasters then maybe SBS and ABC would be able to compete in that market again?

I sure miss those convenient Sunday morning 8am Spring Tour replays that Channel 10 were doing the last few years. Sadly, Wallabies matches are on the anit-siphoning list - which means that the free-to-air channels would have had the first option to purchase before it was offered to Pay TV. So the only conclusion I can draw is that channel 10 didn't think it was worth their time no matter how low the price. The ARU should have helped to work something out. The sport will continue to go backwards in this country if they can't step-up and help to promote it.

Devastated that the matches with England and France are not as yet going to be televised. Please someone fix this. They are our national team and deserve our support and how can we do that if the games are not being televised. Just because a national team may not have been on a winning streak does not mean they are to be shunned from view. How are we to nurture future fans and players if they don't get exposure to the game..

It's an Olympic sport yes rugby is going to grow due to the women's Olympic achievements well that was a huge failure because when your national team is not being shown on free to air tv this sport will always be the buck of all jokes it will still be a sport for the privileged not for the masses stupid stupid ARU, you guys had an opportunity to bring the sport to everybody in the country through the achievements of the rugby sevens but again you guys blew your chances in making the game grow in this country instead of jumping on the success of the sevens you guys instead just separate the two so the code now is split and because we don't have coverage of sevens tournaments on free to air tv the success that 7s made during the Olympics have died unless you are in the game for myself who aren't we have know idea clueless my kids will play soccer because there's coverage everywhere as is rugby league but for union well it can just go to those who are privileged because the game is not for the masses only for the few a pity a real shame ARU no foresight to the future growth of the game and it's why the wallabies fail to be a great team you guys don't have player depth and will never get it because all the good players are lost to league, Afl and soccer, all the kiwis who are calling Oz home are playing league because there are no pathways to the Wallabies because it's not a common game only for the privileged and yes it's why we will never win the Bledisloe because we are too up our noses to even think that rugby is played by normal people only for the privileged so the Wannabes will continue to fail and will always be the 5th winter code behind netball yes netball not Aleague but netball as a winter code.

What a load of crap!! Finished work early to find out the game isn't being televised. I guess the ARU don't want to show another embarrassing loss.

You are kidding ARU no rugby being telecast FTA no wonder your supporter base is dwindling, even netball is growing at a faster rate. I love rugby at a national level . So disappointed as I have been a keen fan and player since slacky was captain, I will be reviewing my ticket investment as a supporter going forward!

As a Scotsman living in Brisbane for 34 years I have never understood the lack of Rugby matches on free TV. I worked out very quickly that rugby league is the number one sport in Queensland. I worked out very quickly that (1982) if you had a mullet and a Newcombe moustache then you absolutely had to be a rugby league supporter. Rugby Internationals? Didn't matter if it was Murrayfield, Twickenham, Cardiff Arms or Lansdowne Road (not sure about Parc de France); we played our rugby matches in the morning. Depending on whether Scotland was home or away we went to the following: The Pub (never the Clubhouse), Murrayfield/or the pub, back to the Clubhouse/Pub to watch the game again just to see Andy Irvine, Barry John, JPR, Gareth Edwards, et al, It was great then because we could see all the rugby greats whether we were at the actual match or at home shouting at the tellie. It has been a long long time since we saw rugby on so-called free-to-air television. I have watched heaps of rugby league matches, AFL games, Basketball games, Netball, etc. etc. It has become the case that we can no longer watch rugby union on television unless we pay the $100 or so to get the Foxtel sports package. THAT'S APPALLING. I didn't play rugby to get famous, I played rugby because my father played rugby and his father played, etc. etc. I used to see my rugby heroes on television, or in the papers. Scotland Rugby has gone backwards partly because the insurance companies decided they wouldn't cover school teachers who gave their time free of charge after school. Australian rugby is different. It has gone backwards because the youngsters cannot see their heroes on television unless their parents pay $100 a month to watch Super 15s. Wow!

Played rugby at Uni. Played subbies as I got older and slower and retired at 35. Loved it when the 'Super' rugby was on free to air, even if delayed. When it went exclusively to Foxtel, I paid up for the minimum period at the time, 6 months, to watch it. But when Foxtel increased the minimum subscription period to 12 months I cancelled. That was when rugby lost me. I still watch the Wallabies but I don't know the players like I used to because I can't follow them during the Super nn season and the days of having a beer with current Wallabies after Thursday night training are long gone. Moved from Sydney to Brisbane and got to know a few Melbourne people. They got me into AFL. And I could watch numerous games a week free to air. And an average club game could get 50,000 people to the game. When my kids came along, I took them to the AFL. They're now committed fans. I'm a member of my club. The lesson for rugby, you lost me when you ditched free to air. The reason I'm penning this diatribe? I stumbled across this trying to find out what channel I could watch the Wallabies vs Wales tonight. ARL, you obviously haven't learnt.

I can't express how angry/disgusted I am at the ARU for excluding their supporter base for the spring tour!!! At a time when the ARU is attempting to battle for position within the Australian sporting order, they limit their fanbase to those who subscribe to Fox. I myself do not, and will not. I am furious!!! I am a Queenslander born and bred, who now lives in Tasmania, the spring tour has been my favourite time of the year since I was a boy! and i'm 45!!! I'm writing Bill Pulver a strongly worded letter and hope everyone else does also!!!

Well for some time I have been gravitating away from Rugby because the coverage isnt adequate and Australia just dont seem to convince the ARU to get behind their game - pisappointing

I seem to remember the 1984 grand slam on free to air. See we are making progress. Get a VPN and just stream on BBC2.

When is the ARU going to step up to the plate? Failing to get wide coverage of the Grand Slam tour speaks volumes about their general effectiveness. We're getting shown up by the other football codes in this country. Do the basics fellas...inspire our kids, provide pathways for our schoolboys and get the bloody Wallabies games on the tele!

Well, I think Quade needs to re-think why the 2011 RWC fans were hostile to him.His continual cheep shots on McCaw would not have endeared him to NZers. I believe Gatland is quite disingenuous saying that all AB fans are not humble just because they celebrate their team's victory (but he probably got the idea genius Kafar). However, I think some (quite a few) NZ fans are ridiculous keeping up the Cooper booing this but certainly means that all AB fans not showing what he calls humility. I have been to Cardiff Arms and Millennium stadium let alone Twickenham and seen fans celebrating their teas' victories without praising the opposition for losing.

I live in a non eastern state of Australia and in process of trying to choose the better of the 2 rugby codes played.....will only be able to watch the League match on free to air so this will help me decide. Trying to follow a code that does not get televised on free to air is not very rewarding.

I had Fox purely to watch oz rugby ($60 month). after about 5 rounds of unwatchable oz super rugby I cancelled fox needing to save the $. Thinking I'd at least watch Wb's on free to air. Nup! Hard to be a rugby supporter these days and to be honest reading about all the infighting between patch protecting administrators all bickering over a dwindling pool of $, Smelly favouritism of undeserving Waratah players, recruitment and fast tracking of untested expensive league converts onto Wallabies tours, stupidly expensive game tickets etc etc I will be surprised if In 5 years time Australian rugby isn't more popular than say... baseball? Sarcasm masks my sadness, and only the Roar to turn to for therapy! Go Wallabies! Will be reading about it tomorrow
