Mundine Green 3? Please no!

By BigJ / Roar Guru

After the controversial rematch of Anthony Mundine and Dany Green last Friday night, there have been calls for another rematch.

Please guys, no, no, no! After the cards told us Green won by unanimous decision and retained his Australian Cruiserweight title, and Mundine has claimed that he was robbed (again, just like every other points loss he has had) and appealed the decision.

Green has said that he didn’t win that easily, with judge Minn giving the fight 98-90 (what fight was he watching?). Like the most famous movie trilogy in Australian History, Crocodile Dundee, a third fight is going to be a total waste of time and money and completely unnecessary.

Like the fights between Mundine and Green the first movie broke all records and put Australia and Paul Hogan on the map. The sequel still made a heap of money and many people still enjoy it today, even though compared to the first fight it has to be considered a failure, still made a heap of money and many people still enjoyed it.

I personally I preferred the sequel to the original. But like the third Croc movie, if Mundine and Green lock horns again it will be a monumental failure and will be an unneccessary edition to a fight triology that no one has asked for.

But likewise to the third Dundee movie, people will open their wallets to watch the fight hoping that it would be on par with the previous two but full well knowing that they is no chance in hell that it’s is going to be worth the time of day.

So please guys No! Just ride off into the sunset and continue the great work that you guys do in the community.

Green with his one punch campaign (and yes there is some irony there, but he can use that as a perfect example of what can happen) and Choc continue to inspire young folks to live a clean life and follow their dreams (just don’t tell them to boycott their own anthem).

Not particularly man. I just know what I'm talking about. I would be more than happy to give Green a ribbing, and i would gaurentee he would understand. He knows that he's a fraud. Yet, he's made a very good career of it. Kudos to the guy for that. That fight is the only fight Choc has ever been robbed in. All the other fights, he lost fair n square. You're so funny. Champ, you're behind a keyboard... There's no need to metaphorically stand behind Green like a little whimp saying stuff like "call him weak to his face you hero". You can be the biggest, toughest mf on here. No one is going to hurt you.

Another Green nut hugger! If you knew boxing, you would understand that no serious sanctioning body would allow a fight with that much difference in size to go ahead. Bad things happen. Mundine took that fight for money. It's risk vs reward. If Green ko'd Mundine, Mundine losses nothing, Green gains nothing. Green would've been looked at like the coward he is. He couldn't win with the size advantage in the first fight, so he wanted to be even bigger for the 2nd. Weak as p@#s! Yet Mundine had everything to win and nothing to lose. Make no mistake about it, Anthony Mundine won that fight well. Green knows it, 99% of Green's fans know it, Mundine knows it. You're actually only the 9th person Australia wide, in person and behind the keyboard, that thinks Green won! Are you feeling lonely?... ?

Although Mundine said he is willing to go around again, Green is not, Green has retired with his tail between his legs for a second time.

BigJ, ya got it wrong man. Green first called Mundine out in 2001, then spent 5 years claiming Mundine was "scared" of him. Green and Fenech couldn't have an interview without mentioning Mundine's name. Naturally, people jumped on his bandwagon because of their dislike of Mundine. Have you ever wondered why Paul Briggs is really only known outside of boxing circles because of the Green fiasco? It's because while Green was building a fan base off Mundine's name, Briggs was in America having some ball tearing fights with Tomaz Ademak for the WBC LHW title. Yet, no one knew who Briggs was... I wonder why? ? Green was the 'interim' WBC world champion before the Mundine fight. So, pretty much 2nd best behind Marcus Beyer, never the best. Green is weak as p@#s BigJ. What world champion did he go after at SMW?... MARKUS BEYER! By far the smallest of all the SMW belt holders. He never wanted to fight Kessler, Hopkins or Calzaghe now did he. Who did he buy his LHW title from? STIPE DREWS! A weedy Croatian with a ko % of under 50%. Once again, he fought the weakest link. Then at Cruiserweight. He only fought 3 guys that were legitimate CW's. Two of them destroyed him. In his other fights at CW. Most of his opponents had to lose or gain anywhere between 13 and 22 pounds from their previous fight to fulfill their contracts with Green. I think branding him weak is a fair call man.

To say that Green built a fortune off Mundine is a fair comment, but he was a world champ in his own right before fighting Mundine, fighting choc just made him more well known in this country, you know the rest of the story. To say that he is weak is a bit rough though, he has had to awesome battles in the ring. Briggs was really the only fight that should never of happened, as for the others particualry his IBO title defences, if the IBO allow him to have a cathweight fight for the title, that's on them, not Green. Thanks for your continued support mate.

Common sense says that there shouldn't be a third fight. Lets hope it never comes to that. I personally think Choc should just let it go. He won the fight in my eyes and for 90% of the boxing public. If anything this is just going to eat away at Green. That's because wherever he goes for the rest of his life people will tell him that he lost that last fight despite what the judges scored the bout. Rest easy Choc, it will be Danny Green and not you who should be having sleepless nights over this result.

BigJ, you're actually very well spoken for an amateur journalist. It's a petty more of your articles aren't put up. Not that i agree with most of them, but they're well worded. The only problem here, is that you're reeking of a Green fan that just wants to take Friday's result and run into the sunset, hoping that people will just forget about what a fraud Green is. People (even 90% of Green's fans) aren't silly. The comments from these fans in the aftermarth of that disgraceful decision proved that. Mundines appeal comes through and Friday's decision is changed to an NC... I'll look forward to your next article. ? Greeen talked nicely (like he should!) Of Choc after the fight, knowing full well that he had robbed him of a massive win. Not many people bought it but. People are now seeing the true Danny Green. A weak man that has built his fortune off another man's name, bs, lies and fights that - had it not been for $$$ - should have NEVER been sanctioned.

Sounds like Anthony is angling for a run with Saints at next year's Nines. May be Parra could join the party and offer Green a run. I'm with ya BigJ, it's time both left boxing to the young punks.

Mundine may have claimed robbed with one other points loss, but with this one I very sure 8 people out of 10 that watched the fight, boxing expert or otherwise, had Mundine winning the fight. I mean, can you sit down and watch the fight and honestly say Green won? Mundine battered him. With scores like they came out there is clearly something wrong. Also with the first round thing. The ref never called break or stop (it must be one of the 2), any other words used means the boxers must fight out of clinch, and its protect yourself at all times. Green should have had a count put on him in round 1. There are many suspect areas of this fight, and Mundine has every right to feel ripped off. A 3rd fight would be the same, Mundine killing it, styles makes fights, and this is not a good one for Green. He will now realize this and avoid a 3rd bout. If justice prevails last Fridays fight will be changed to a NDC. I mean really, you think Grren won that fight?
