Once again a great days racing and a great Golden Slipper. There have been some recent comments about "The Slipper" not being good enough to be in the "Big Four" and the reasons are mainly around the fact that it is a two year old race. Strangely I've rarely heard a knock on the race until last week , or more realistically I've dismissed those knockers as i do the knockers of Winx and Black Caviar. So here are my reasons why it's top 4. It is the richest two year old race in the world. Every owner , trainer and jockey wants to win this race as much as any other. Punters are talking about this race once the two year olds show themselves in October. And on Race day we know all the exposed form. The Blue Diamond, The Pago Pago , The Riesling , Slipper, The Silver Slipper. There are no internationals. There aren't too many smokies. The winner has usually won at least one race. A great win to She Will Reign. And a great win from Winx too.
