The early kick-off game in the EPL this week has newly promoted Huddersfield Town taking on Premier League veterans Tottenham.

Six games into the EPL season and not many would have predicted these two sides only being separated by four places and just two points with Huddersfield sitting in eighth position and Tottenham occupying fourth on the EPL table.

The Terriers will be happy with how they have adjusted to life with the big boys but will need to be at their very best when Tottenham role into town.

Spurs are just starting to hit a bit of form and have won three on the spin with their most recent performance seeing them gain a valuable three points mid-week in the Champions League away to Apoel Nicosia.

Tottenham have been very dangerous on the road so far and have picked up maximum points so will see this as an ideal opportunity to keep pace with the two Manchester clubs who have made blistering starts to the season.

Huddersfield boss Dave Wagner believes this game to be his sides biggest test so far and few would disagree.

However his own side are also proving to be a match for whoever they face at the moment.

Huddersfield boast the third best defence at present behind the two Manchester clubs and have proved a very difficult team to play against.

They will be looking to Christopher Schindler to once again put in a commanding performance at the back, the German has made an impressive start to the season alongside Aaron Mooy and Tom Ince.

Wagner has lavished praise on Mooy recently, admiring how the Australian has helped to control games and link the defence and attack from his central role.

Mooy has assisted 14 chances this early in the season and they will be looking to him again today to get the team going however it remains to be seen if he can have the same influence against a side with the calibre of Spurs.

The bad news for Huddersfield is that we are still in September, a month of the year that Tottenham No.10 Harry Kane relishes.

Kane has been a notoriously slow starter to Premier League seasons but as soon as September comes around its almost like he wakes from a holiday hangover and hits the ground not just running but sprinting.

So far this month Kane has scored 11 goals in seven games for club and country. His scoring statistics for 2017 have got him up their with the very best, after his exploits in the midweek Champions League game Kane has now scored six hat-tricks in 2017 and has scored 34 goals for club and country this calendar year which has him leading the charts for Premier league strikers.

Many pundits and ex-players this week have been talking about him in the same breath as Messi and Ronaldo, whether he reaches the heights those two have remains to be seen but for now every defence he encounters will need to be on top form to stop this lethal marksman.

Team News Huddersfield
Club record signing Steve Mounie is still out and recovering from a heel issue after missing the last 3 games and midfielder Danny Williams is out with a fractured foot.

Striker Collin Quaner is missing with a knee injury while midfielder Kasey Palmer will miss the game due to a hamstring injury.

Team News Tottenham
Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen is available after illness, while Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen will return from European suspension.

Mousa Dembele is out with an ankle injury, and Serge Aurier is suspended after his red card at West Ham.

Erik Lamela, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama remain long-term absentees.

Prediction
From what I have seen from Huddersfield so far is they like to come out and play. If they take this approach I feel Tottenham have too much star quality all over the park to pick them off.

Tottenham will be full of confidence coming off the back of their Champions League exploits and I feel that Harry Kane is on too much of a run at the moment for Huddersfield to stop.

Huddersfield 1 – Tottenham 3

It was surely no surprise to see Aaron being "hooked". He looked to be completely "out of it" with the game swirling to and fro all around him,and he reduced to almost a ball watching spectator. jb
