Melbourne Victory have finally gotten a win on the board in the 2017-18 A-League season, defeating Perth Glory 2-0.

Perth Glory will welcome the winless Melbourne Victory to NIB stadium in the final match of Round 7. Join The Roar for live scores from 7pm (AEDT).
Perth will be looking to bounce back from their torrid performance last weekend after getting demolished 5-2 away to Wellington.
After having the worst defence in the league last season things look like they haven’t been fixed up at the back having conceded 12 goals in six games so far.
For the fourth week in a row Victory ground out a draw, against Brisbane in what was a very dour affair. Victory have only been in front for two per cent of gametime out of the first seven matches so far.
Kenny Lowe will be sweating on the fitness of star midfielder Diego Castro as he left training on early Friday with a calf complaint. Already out for lengthy stint on the sidelines is Adam Taggart after tearing his hamstring. So a lot could rest on the shoulders of Andy Keogh this week.
In what has been Melbourne Victory’s worst start to a season in a long time this just keep getting worse. Mitch Austin was ruled out for the season with a tear in his ACL.
Kevin Muscat will be thankful that the world cup qualifiers are over as he will welcome back Milligan, Troisi and Barbarouses which will help bolster the attack.
Prediction
Perth have a fantastic record at home against Victory winning their last four matches but I expect that trend to finally be bucked on Sunday evening.
Perth with all their fragilities at the back plus so many injuries its hard to see them winning. I expect Victory to finally get the attack to click and win this won quite comprehensively.
Victory 3-1

A-League is shown live all over the world to about 10 million viewers every week now. https://www.myfootball.com.au/news/hyundai-a-league-201718-season-goes-truly-global Viewers Aussie Rules can only dream about. How were the ratings for the huge Aussie Rules game in China. Pretty bad weather this weekend along the East Coast probably explains why sunny Perth had the biggest attendance. Although avge A-League attendances are still higher than last season, take your point that attendances at A-League games are an issue. We hope the FFA can address them once it sorts out its problems with FIFA and the club owners, now that the Footballroos have qualified for their fourth FIFA World Cup in a row. I see that Australia qualified for the International Rules series with Ireland. Well Done !!!

There can be no doubt about it. Mr AFL Football has fully exposed himself this past 7 days. The AUS National Team's triumph has pushed Grobbelaar over the edge from "generally engaging well with Football on this forum" to the typical snide remarks about TV ratings & crowds in the ALeague. All we need is for him to bring back the Hot Pants & High Kick photo.

A loss here and this would definitely have to be the Victory's worse start to a season. They have already surpassed the five draws from the opening five games they had in season 2007-08. Must be looking like the start of the A-League's debut season, which was a pretty poor one for the Victory.
