Dees dump Crows in Alice

By Stuart Thomas / Expert

The Demons have spanked the Crows by 91 points in Alice Springs, in a performance that no one expected and few will believe unless they had seen it with their own eyes.

From minute one it was all Melbourne. Their run from the back line was outstanding as was their contested possession in the midfield.

When the ball found the forwards, they were solid in the marking contest and competed well to lock the ball in the forward area and provide secondary opportunities.

The kicking efficiency in front of goal was outstanding and the Demons will struggle to reproduce the accuracy and precision they achieved in Alice Springs for the remainder of the season.

The Crows were a disgrace from the opening minutes and got no better throughout the contest. Beaten in every aspect of the game, they have a lot of soul searching to do after a performance that is potentially their worst in over two years.

Well played Demons and good luck Adelaide as we move into week eleven of the competition. The Dees now sit in the top four and the Crows are on the outside looking in.

Final score
Melbourne Demons 23.8.146
Adelaide Crows 8.7.55

who invited the Crows? Don't come back next year - give us a competitive team that gets thrashed trying at least - carlton, the saints?

Crows still tracking for 6th. If they can win 2 games they're not expected to they could still make top 4. All is not lost.

Fogarty has been nominated for mark of the year. Real problem with that: hands on the back and shoulders was rife a few years back. Was acted against. Seems all is forgotten. ‘Inconsistency’ is a bad word for those who look after the laws, second only to those who tweak to forget.

The Dees are a very good side, so they were the ones to show that no team can handle an injury list like Adelaide’s indefinitely. In this game where 5% off your best is enough to count you out, injuries like these matter.

It looks like the Crows injury list finally hit it's tipping point. Seedsman before the game and Brown out in the first quarter were the final straws. Credit to Melbourne, but they hit Adelaide at the perfect time.
