The Western Bulldogs will look to respond after a tough Thursday night loss to Port Adelaide, by 57 points.

Their night got worse when skipper Easton Wood and in-form midfielder Jack Macrae went down with hamstring injuries.

North Melbourne are coming off their bye weekend, a break well deserved after their positive start to the season.

Currently just inside the top eight, the Kangaroos are doing much better than tipsters predicted.

The Bulldogs have made four changes for this clash, three of those forced.

Jack Macrae (hamstring), Lukas Webb (hand) and Easton Wood (hamstring) are out with injury, while Shane Biggs has been omitted.

Marcus Adams, Josh Dunkley, Dale Morris and Aaron Naughton have been brought in to the side.

Dale Morris returns after knee surgery only a fortnight ago to repair some meniscus damage.

At North Melbourne two changes have been made to tackle the Bulldogs.

Billy Hartung and Cameron Zurhaar have been omitted after poor performances against Geelong before the bye; Jed Anderson and Nathan Hrovat the two inclusions.

Jed Anderson will return from a hamstring injury, while Nathan Hrovat earned his recall after spending time in the VFL following a fractured thumb.

North will still be without Jarrad Waite, who was ruled out with a calf injury.

The last time these two teams met was 364 days ago in round 14, where the Bulldogs took a nail-biting one point victory.

Prediction
In recent times they’ve had some close encounters, but this season Kangaroos are putting up far better performances than the injury-riddled Bulldogs.

With Ben Brown leading the charge, the Kangaroos forward line to be too tall and strong for the Bulldogs, it’ll be a cruisy victory for North.

North Melbourne by 31.

The North Melbourne Kangaroos have defeated the Western Bulldogs by 2 points in a thriller at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night. After the Bulldogs led for most of the night, a last minute goal by Jack Ziebell stole the four points for North Melbourne Jack Ziebell opened the scoring in the fourth term to put the Kangaroos in front, before Ben Brown extended that lead with his fifth goal. Bailey Williams got one back for Dogs, but Shaun Atley responded immediately with a dribble goal. The Bulldogs kicked two in a row through Ed Richards playing on from a free kick, and then Billy Gowers in the goal square. In the final minute, a forward kick out of bounds by Mitch Wallis ultimately cost the Bulldogs the game, as North transitioned quickly, opening up the forward line and scored through Jack Ziebell. The Kangaroos will be thrilled, while the improved Bulldogs are left gutted, throwing away their lead in the second half. Ben Brown added to his Coleman Medal tally with five goals, while Jack Ziebell contributed three goals to the final score. Shaun Higgins (32 disposals, 2 goals) and Ben Cunnington (30 disposals, 22 contested) opened the game up for North Melbourne in the second half. Todd Goldstein (20 disposals, 42 hit outs) dominated in the ruck, showing his class with some beautiful taps to Cunnington and Higgins in the last quarter. Bulldog Billy Gowers showed impressive signs booting three goals from his 22 disposals, while Hayden Crozier and Lachie Hunter picked up 30 disposals each. The Bulldogs much improved performance was highlighted by the efforts of young forwards’ Aaron Naughton and Bailey Williams, who both kicked two goals. The Kangaroos lost Ben Jacobs to delayed onset concussion symptoms before the match, and Billy Hartung, Jacobs’ replacement, limped off the ground in the second quarter. Hartung spent the second half on the bench with ice on his left hamstring. Next up, the Western Bulldogs host Geelong at Etihad Stadium on Friday night, while North Melbourne take on Essendon at Etihad on Sunday.

Ripper game that one. Poor umpires look confused - not sure what Majak Daw did wrong with a perfectly executed bump. Played a pretty good game to Daw. Higgins and Cunnington should both poll well in Brownlow......which probably means they won't.

Swannies "Doggies will finish strong here and get the win. " Mattician "Roos will kick away know" Doctor R says two points is the win NM were slightly better kicking at goal,Higgins the difference in the last. Doggies defense let them down for the last goal. That said ,Roos' defense let them down for the Dogs' last goal.Good game
