Backs
Sam Rowe and Liam Jones were well below their best for the Blues. Hopefully they bounce back in Round 17 against the Saints.

Heath Shaw had a bad day against the Eagles, but he has the capability of rebounding in a tough game for the Giants against the Tigers. Adam Saad usually creates a lot of run out of defence, but failed to provide that against the Magpies. Alex Pearce is normally an important part of the Dockers back six negating the opposition tall forwards, however, he was the centre half back in an underwhelming Fremantle defence.

Nick Haynes had fewer than ten possessions for the first time this season, but he will get the opportunity to redeem himself as he has played every game for the Giants this season.

Midfielders
Mitch Robinson had his worst game from a statistical perspective this season for the Lions and kicked his goal in the fourth quarter when the game was well and truly over, but he should rebound this week against the Hawks.

Lachie Neale has probably been the Dockers’ most consistent player this season, but he was largely ineffectual, collecting fewer than 20 possessions for the first time this season.

Paul Seedsman has been one of the improvers in the 2018 AFL season, but he had one of his worst performances of the season in Round 16.

Forwards
Shaun Atley is an up and coming youngster, but it was a game to forget for him. I was expecting a lot from Taylor Walker in Round 16, as he had his best game of the season a week ago, but he failed to live up to my high expectations.

He is widely regarded as one of the best captains in the competition and I would be surprised if he didn’t bounce back. Curtly Hampton is one of my favourite players; I hope he gets the chance to redeem himself for his display in Round 16, as he played possibly the worst game of his career.

I was expecting Josh Thomas to be a pivotal part of the Magpies outfit, following possibly his best performance of his career. He should rebound, and show why he is a permanent fixture in the Magpies best 22.

Paddy McCartin was an important factor in the Saints collecting the four points in Round 15, but he failed to play to his capability last week. I’m sure he will fight back. Matthew Wright has been a good recruit for the Blues, but his performance in Round 16 was one to forget, he wasn’t alone though.

Tom Boyd played his best game of the season in Round 15, which is why I expected him to repeat the dose. I’m sure he will be back to his best soon.

David Mundy didn’t play well, although I’m sure he will improve. David Swallow is in the conversation as far as who the Suns best player is in 2018, however, he would be disappointed by his output in Round 16.

Interchange
Jonathan Ceglar may be given more responsibility in the next week or so, as number one ruckman Ben McEvoy may miss some game time through injury. Hopefully Ceglar can improve on the form that he displayed in Round 16.

Jack Trengove had a solid start to his Power career in Round 15 but followed it up with a disappointing effort in Round 16.

Michael Rischitelli was recruited as one of the senior players for the Suns because he had an impressive career at the Lions. Last week was a game to forget for him.

Nick Holman played one of his better games in Round 15, but couldn’t back it up.
