The Blues have already taken out the under 18s State of Origin title, as well as both the residents game and wheelchair match. Somewhere in between, New South Wales also won Women’s Origin and with a game to play, Brad Fittler’s men have already wrapped up the senior series.

This would just about complete the sweep for the southern state, with only the under 16s Origin to come on Sunday.
c
Queensland come into this game as favourites though. Their key man is AJ Brimson, who has been in great form for the Titans at NRL level. He will be joined int he halves by Jake Clifford, who, given the Cowboys’ struggles, should be getting more gametime up north.

Corry Allan and the talented Harry Grant round out the spine, with the later likely to need to leave the Storm for more NRL minutes, stuck behind New Zealander Brendon Smith and, of course, Cameron Smith for the time being.

Patrick Carrigan, Gehamat Shibasaki and Clifford were all involved in the residents squad. Storm forward Timo Fa’asuamaleaui also gets his second crack in Maroon after playing for the under 18s before Game 1.

The Blues will be directed by Kyle Flanagan, who played in and was instrumental in the residents’ victory before Game 2.

Flanagan will need to have a huge game though. Reece Robson is another who must standout for the Blues, with the hooker making his debut for the Dragons in the NRL a handful of weeks ago.

Young Melbourne fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen gets a run after displaying fantastic form for the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Queensland Cup while Jai Whitbread is on the cusp of first grade along with a number of others Blues forwards.

Prediction
Kyle Flanagan will need a huge performance if the Blues are to win. But with the match in Brisbane and Brimson showing good form, the Maroons should get the job done.

Queensland by 4.

But he won't. It'll be TMM and Morgan in the halves next year.

How did Reed Mahoney go for Queensland? Saw he had a hand in a few tries. As the only eel in this years state of origin I need to at least cling onto that!!

Are we talking tonight, or for the coming years? If we are talking coming years, I really get the feeling Origin is going to be quite even.

FULLTIME The Queensland Maroons have won the under 20s Origin for the first time, with the hosts cruising through the second half to dominate the New South Wales Blues for a big 18-point victory at Suncorp Stadium. New South Wales came racing out of the gates, but weren't able to get a score on the board with their execution lacking and the Maroons defence doing its job early on. Queensland would score the first try, before Brian Too got the Blues on the board with a miraculous diving effort in the corner. The hosts scored again before halftime to lead 12-6, then ran away with the game during the second half as Jake Clifford stamped his name as the best player on ground, having a hand in all three of the remaining Queensland tries which set up the big victory. 79' - TRY BLUES, BILLY SMITH The Blues will have one last crack at scoring here. They bring it back from the dropout through Kaufusi and Guler, then they shift it all the way to the left. No real defence there and Billy Smith is over untouched in the corner after Brailey went out of dummy half. Queensland Maroons 30 New South Wales Blues 10

78' - The dropout rolls down to the sideline here and it's Too with a good run back. Robson goes from dummy half, then they spread left from Guler to O'Hagan before Johns straightens but can't get through. Guler with a grubber and the Flanagan grubber forces another repeat set. Honestly, they were busy replaying something and we never saw it. So, no idea.

75' - New South Wales up to halfway through Hala, then it's left for O'Hagan. Back to the right and Flanagan is involved before Wilton is tackled. One more play up the middle before they come back to the right and Flanagan with a great grubber to force a repeat set. Queensland Maroons 30 New South Wales Blues 6

74' - A short dropout for the Blues, but that comes to nothing. The Maroons go forward through Lam and Carrigan off a short ball from Grant, but he can't get through the line under the posts. Grant goes from dummy half back across the ruck, but no way through. Brimson with a grubber, and the Maroons look to have scored, but there is a penalty New South Wales. 74' - Brimson starts this set from 40 metres out with a quick tap. He can't get through, but the forwards then cart them inside 10. Grant with a run, then Carrigan a second as he goes at the posts. They go right from Clifford to Wiltshire now, but his pass over the top is batted down by the Blues with a dropout to follow as they force it in goal. Queensland Maroons 30 New South Wales Blues 6
