How to watch Waratahs vs Highlanders online or on TV: Super Rugby quarter-finals live stream, start time, date, venue

By The Roar / Editor

The Waratahs are Australia’s only hope in the eight teams contesting in the Super Rugby finals. Will they bounce back from last week’s loss to the Brumbies to progress through or will the Highlanders knock Daryl Gibson’s men out of the playoffs?

This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online and watching it on TV.

The Waratahs were out-enthused in their last-start defeat to the Brumbies.

While the 40-31 loss was disappointing, the New South Welshmen can take confidence out of the fact that they belted the Highlanders 41-12 in their last meeting with the New Zealand-based side.

Meanwhile, the Highlanders denied the Rebels their first-ever finals appearance after a 43-37 comeback win.

The match will be played at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, July 21 at 8.05pm (AEST).

How to watch the game on TV

The only place you can catch this Saturday night’s final on TV is Fox Sports channel 501.

Coverage begins with a pre-game show at 7.30pm (AEST). There will also be a dissection of the match following the final whistle, which is scheduled to wrap up at 10pm.

To watch the coverage on Fox Sports, you need a valid Foxtel TV subscription, including the sports package.

How to live stream the game online

If you want to tune into the game online, you will also need to do so through one of Foxtel’s dedicated streaming applications.m

The first option is the Foxtel App, which is the better choice if you already have a TV subscription. As long as you have a valid login, it will be free to use and download.

If you don’t have a TV subscription to Foxtel, the other alternative is Foxtel Now. You will have to pay for this service though, with the sports package starting at $55 a month.

Size matter eh Rebellion? I have Foxtel over the copper network at home and only need to watch SR in SD on my 55" UHD TV. I ALso have Foxtel Now over NBN and am considering dropping the former in favour of the flexibility and cost savings of the latter. My point was merely that I didn't understand where the $55/mo figure came from as if you check pricing on the Foxtel Now site, I can't see how anyone got to that number. Still if you want to pick holes in the comment about size, that's up to you.

What a peculiar comment given most people’s TV’s are now 55 inch or larger. Standard definition is a piss-weak excuse for an ethically-challenged corporation to jack the price on an already overpriced service.

Not sure about the Foxtel pricing here... HD perhaps? Basic SD Sport is $29/month plus $10/month for one of the base packages. Cancel when the finals are over ...
