Melbourne Demons vs Sydney Swans: Fears Alex Johnson has suffered another cruel ACL injury

Luckless Sydney Swans defender Alex Johnson may have suffered another ACL injury, during the Bloods’ round 21 fixture against the Melbourne Demons at the MCG.

Just the week before, Johnson had made a heartwarming return to the top-level after five knee reconstructions and 12 surgeries, playing a big part in the Swans’ win over Collingwood – his first AFL game since the 2012 grand final win.

However, there are fears the 26-year-old has been dealt another cruel blow, after Johnson pulled up while trying to chase Jesse Hogan deep in Sydney’s defensive 50.

Sydney CEO Tom Harley told channel seven the injury had occurred to Johnson’s other knee.
