WATCH: Pro golfer’s drive is so bad it makes weekend hackers look good

Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal has given hope to weekend hackers everywhere after hilariously hooking a terrible shank on the 8th hole at the European Tour’s Made in Denmark tournament.

Larrazábal would sensationally still manage a birdie on the par five despite the comical blunder on his first shot, cementing his spot at the pointy end of the leaderboard halfway through the final round.

Not even the commentators could pass up having a laugh at the 36-year-old, struggling to find the words between laughter on air.

“I don’t think he’s hit that properly at all, that was low, to say the least.

“He’s completely smothered this one.”

It was made even better (or worse if you’re Larrazábal) thanks to an interview with the Spaniard straight after his shot, being confronted with this question from the interviewer.

“It’s been a great start… you must be feeling good?”

There was a cheeky grin from all parties, and even the commentators again bursting into laughter in the background.

Five birdies on the front nine gave way to three bogies on the back, ending the final round at -9 and a finish tied for fourth overall.

Despite the tee off recovery on the 8th and a high-place finish, this is one he’ll want to forget in a hurry.
