The Sydney Roosters have defeated the South Sydney Rabbitohs 30 points to 6 in what was an absolutely dominant display and a complete reversal of last week’s result.
Luke Keary was immense in his return, igniting the Roosters’ left side by setting up tries to Boyd Cordner and Latrell Mitchell.
The writing was on the wall for Souths early, with the Roosters scoring the first try of the game in just the second minute through Joseph Manu. Mitchell failed to convert the try, but a penalty goal in the eighth minute saw the home side extend their lead to six.
The Roosters continued to run riot, with tries to Mitchell Aubusson, Cordner, Siosiua Taukeiaho, James Tedesco and Mitchell completing a first half 26-0 blitz for the defending premiers.
The Rabbitohs showed no signs of improvement early in the second half. There was no urgency about their play, and they failed to put the Roosters under any pressure. In contrast, the Roosters just turned the screws and continued to pressure their opposition, not allowing them even a sniff of victory.
Mitchell scored his second for the game in the 58th minute, marking the 9th consecutive game in which the goal-kicking centre individually out-scored his opponents, extending the lead to 30-0 in the process.
Finally though the Rabbitohs showed signs of life, with Adam Reynolds making a break out of nowhere. He would be in the thick of it again a minute later, running off a great offload from the soon-to-be-retired John Sutton, stepping around Tedesco and Aubusson to score his side’s only try of the game in the 64th minute.
The Rabbitohs continued to show signs of promise towards the end of the game. The Burgess twins were particularly impressive late in the contest, although it was far too little too late in the context of the result. They will be better next week for this run, and they will enjoy having older brother Sam back from suspension.
For the Roosters, they’ve earned the week off after an absolutely dominant display at the SCG. At this stage, few will be able to question their premiership favouritism – at least until Melbourne play tomorrow night.

To be totally honest last week's game could easily have gone the same way. With a little bit of execution the Roosters could've led 24 nil at halftime last week. Last night's score and game is a fair indication of the difference between the teams.

Yep....it is getting to the part of the season when you round up those pesky rabbits and lock them back in their cage...they enjoy their own company at least. Hopefully Latrell finds his kicking boots soon because when he does his form will follow.
