Predicting Round 11's team of the week

By Doran Smith / Roar Guru

The team that has been chosen in the Round 11 predicted team strongly mirrors the positions that the players will play in the round, with the exception of the interchange bench.

There are two teams that have a bye in Round 11, which are Greater Western Sydney and Sydney Swans, which means there are 16 teams to choose players who will be a part of the predicted team.

Four players retain their position from Round 10’s predicted team in Round 11’s predicted team of the week, and they are Rory Laird, Jack Billings, Jack Macrae and Dustin Martin.

B: Rory Laird (Adelaide Crows), Sam Collins (Gold Coast) Jake Carlisle (St Kilda)
HB: Jayden Short (Richmond), Robbie Tarrant (North Melbourne), Brad Sheppard (West Coast)
C: Jack Billings (St Kilda), Jack Macrae (Western Bulldogs), Josh Daicos (Collingwood)
HF: Dan Butler (St Kilda), Matt Taberner (Fremantle), Jack Gunston (Hawthorn)
FF: Dustin Martin (Richmond), Harry McKay (Carlton), Liam Shiels (Hawthorn)
Foll: Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne), Tom Rockliff (Port Adelaide), Lachie Neale (Brisbane Lions)
Int: Josh Dunkley (Western Bulldogs), Clayton Oliver (Melbourne Demons), Zach Merrett (Essendon) Cameron Guthrie (Geelong)

Backs
Rory Laird was a shining light for the Adelaide Crows in Round 10 and will be looking to emulate that performance in Round 11.

Sam Collins should be in strong consideration for the AFL All-Australian fullback position in AFL season 2020.

Jake Carlisle will need to be at his best if St Kilda are to beat Geelong.

Jayden Short should show why he is an underrated player in Round 11.

Robbie Tarrant has carried the North Melbourne backline and will need to be at his best if North Melbourne are to beat the Melbourne Demons.

Brad Sheppard should help successfully curtail the influence of the Carlton forward line.

Midfielders
Jack Billings has the opportunity to show why he has been a revelation this season.

Jack Macrae should show why he is possibly one of the most consistent players in the competition.

Josh Daicos should dominate against the Adelaide Crows.

Forwards
Dan Butler will be tough for the Geelong defence to curtail.

Matt Taberner should continue his good form against Hawthorn.

Jack Gunston will be difficult for the West Coast defence to negate.

Dustin Martin being selected in this team is a no brainer.

Harry McKay will be too tough a task for the West Coast defence to stop having an impact on the game.

Liam Shiels is a quiet achiever and should show why in Round 11.

Followers
Todd Goldstein should get the better of his duel against Max Gawn.

Tom Rockliff showed how good he is defensively in Round 10, with 15 tackles and expect him to bring a similar intensity in Round 11.

Lachie Neale never seems to have a bad game.

Interchange
Josh Dunkley makes the Western Bulldogs look a better team with him in it.

Clayton Oliver should win plenty of disposals against North Melbourne.

Zach Merrett will be tough for the Gold Coast to prevent from performing well.

Cameron Guthrie is one of Geelong’s most important players.

That’s interesting as I wrote an article relating one player from each club that deserves more game time and chose Zac Fisher from Carlton; https://www.theroar.com.au/2020/07/16/one-player-from-each-club-that-deserves-more-game-time/

I think McGovern will come for the Eagles for the Sunday game against Carlton. Hopefully Ryan is fit for the Eagles as well. Eagles by 30 pts.
