Predicting Round 16's team of the week

By Doran Smith / Roar Guru

There are two teams that have a bye in Round 16, Collingwood and Richmond, which means there are still 16 teams to choose the predicted team in Round 16 from.

The 16 teams that are playing in Round 16 have at least one player in the predicted team for Round 16 except for North Melbourne, who have none.

Two players retain their position from Round 15’s predicted team in Round 16’s predicted team of the week. They are Reilly O’Brien and Kyle Langford.

Find out who else made the Predicted team in Round 16.

B: Brad Sheppard (West Coast), Sam Collins (Gold Coast), Harris Andrews (Brisbane Lions)
HB: Hayden Crozier (Western Bulldogs), Luke Ryan (Fremantle), Jake Lloyd (Sydney Swans)
C: Jack Scrimshaw (Hawthorn), Matt Crouch (Adelaide Crows), Sam Menegola (Geelong)
HF: Luke Parker (Sydney Swans), Tom Hawkins (Geelong), Ben Ainsworth (Gold Coast)

Backs
Brad Sheppard will need to replicate his Round 15 display in Round 16 as West Coast have a danger game against the Western Bulldogs.

Sam Collins will play a key role in negating Eric Hipwood from the Brisbane Lions.

Harris Andrews will need to be at his best if the Brisbane Lions are any chance of beating Gold Coast.

Hayden Crozier should prove why he is underrated in Round 16.

Luke Ryan will be looking to curtail the influence of the Melbourne Demons forward line and create plenty of run off half back.

Jake Lloyd can provide plenty of run off a half-back flank against a Carlton team out of form in Round 16.

Midfielders
Jack Scrimshaw will be looking to replicate his Round 15 performance in Round 16.

Matt Crouch can prove why he has the potential to be an elite player of the competition in Round 16.

Sam Menegola has been extremely consistent. Menegola has played to his optimum level in the 2020 AFL season. Expect Round 16 to be no different against Essendon.

Forwards
Luke Parker will be looking to continue on from where he left off in Round 15 as he had an outstanding game against the Melbourne Demons.

Tom Hawkins should benefit from the bye against an inconsistent Essendon.

Ben Ainsworth received ten coaches votes in Round 14. Hopefully, he will prove that display wasn’t an aberration.

Jack Gunston will want to replicate his performance from Round 15 against the Adelaide Crows if Hawthorn are to beat St Kila in Round 16, in what would be a morale-boosting win.

Charlie Dixon will be looking to kick plenty of goals against the struggling North Melbourne.

Reilly O’Brien displayed why he has a good future in Round 15 and will be looking to prove that his performance wasn’t an aberration when the Adelaide Crows play the Giants in Round 16.

Jack Steele needs to be at his best if St Kilda are to beat Hawthorn in Round 16.

Tom Rockliff should have a good game against North Melbourne in Round 16.

Interchange
Jacob Hopper needs to show that he can fulfill his potential in Round 16 in a danger game for the Giants against the Adelaide Crows.

Kyle Langford has been in form of late. Expect that continue against Geelong.

Sam Walsh will need to be at his best if Carlton are to beat the Sydney Swans in Round 16.

Angus Brayshaw needs to play well in a must-win game for the Melbourne Demons against Fremantle in Round 16.

Thanks for that; I submitted the article prior to the game in which Harris Andrews getting injured. I would replace him in the team with Nick Haynes from the Giants.

Might want to edit your predicted team of the week. I see one player that has been added that won't be playing due to injury.
