AFL combined team (Part 3)

This combined team comprises the teams 13th to 18th in the competition as far as alphabetical order is concerned.

The combined team Part Three of Three comprises three players from the following teams: Port Adelaide Power, Richmond Tigers, St Kilda Saints, Sydney Swans, West Coast Eagles and Western Bulldogs.

It’s an entertaining exercise to formulate the team as changing one player can have a domino effect. Of course, it’s a hypothetical exercise, but an entertaining one nonetheless.

Backs
Aliir Aliir of the Power averages the fifth most intercepts of anyone in the AFL with an average of 8.15 intercepts per game. He has been a pivotal part of the Power’s back six.

Alex Keath has been in good form for the Western Bulldogs with an average of 7.23 intercepts per game, the highest of any Western Bulldogs player.

Taylor Duryea averages the second most intercepts of any Western Bulldogs player with an average of 5.69 intercepts per game.

Half Backs
Jayden Short has been a revelation for the Tigers. He has proved that he has a quality player as he never seems to have a bad game.

Jeremy McGovern has averaged the most intercepts of any Eagles player with an average of 7.43 intercepts per game. He is one of the Eagles most important players as they are a better team with him in it.

Jordan Dawson has had an outstanding season for the Swans so much so he deserves to be in All Australian contention due to his consistency in the opening 13 games of the season.

Centres
Karl Amon is a player that deserves more recognition as he is a good player with plenty of ability. He has the ability to play as an inside midfielder or on the wing, which is a big asset for the Power.

Ollie Wines has performed to a high standard in season 2021 after 13 games for the Power. He averages the third most disposals of any player in the competition after Round 14 with an average of 32 disposals per game.

Andrew Gaff just keeps racking up disposals with no fuss with an average of 28.38 disposals per game. He has arguably been the Eagles best player in season 2021.

Half-forwards
Shai Bolton of the Tigers has been in outstanding form in season 2021. He is a player that can do things other players can’t. He is able to handle the ball easily and has an average of exactly seven score involvements per game.

Isaac Heeney has been a pivotal part of the Swans line up. He averages 5.64 score involvements per game. He averages the second most goals of any Swans player averages 1.73 goals per game.

Jack Billings has an impressive average of 5.77 score involvements and has featured in all 13 games for the Saints in season 2021.

Forwards
Marcus Bontempelli is arguably the best player in the competition. He leads by example for the Bulldogs and it’s a testament to his versatility that his able to play forward and in the midfield. He averages the equal fifth most score involvements along with Tom Hawkins with an average of 8.15 score involvements per game.

Lance Franklin has been a key player as he draws defenders and has made a good contribution on the scoreboard in the nine games that he has featured in. He averages the most goals for the Swans and has kicked 25 goals, four more than any other Swans player.

Dustin Martin makes everything look easy. He is a star of the competition. There’s no questioning his talent and that he has had a good season so far. He is a player that is a valuable part of the Tigers team.

Followers
Nic Naitanui of the Eagles averages the sixth most hitouts of any ruckman in the AFL. He is an instrumental part of the Eagles team. He averages 5.23 score involvements per game, which is pretty impressive for a ruckman.

He is universally referred to as the best ruckman in the game with the exception of perhaps Max Gawn from the Demons.
Jack Steele has been an important part of the Saints midfield so far in season 2021. He averages the most disposals of any Saints player with an average of 27.31 disposals per game.

Brad Crouch has been one of the best players for the Saints after Round 14 in season 2021. He averages the second most disposals of any Saints player with an average of 26.82 disposals per game in 11 games.
